jonah meets weston

Today we had the honor of meeting Weston and his parents. Weston has Recessive Dystrophic EB. You can find out more about how we became friends with Weston here, but the most important part is this: Weston gave us hope when we didn't have much. When all the doctors were telling us how bad it was, Weston's mom, Dana, sent us pictures of Weston LIVING - bowling, playing ping pong, hanging out with friends. It was exactly what we all needed - optimism, life, hope for Jonah's future.

Weston is up here for some dental work (from Texas!), and they traveled from Chapel Hill today just to see us! We went out to Sagebrush for lunch, and then Weston, his parents, my mom, and Shaina all went bowling. Weston and Shaina are the same age, and Shaina has become friends with both Weston and Dana since Jonah's birth.

We're so happy to have met Weston, and will never, ever forget the great gift he gave us in a time of hopelessness.

Thanks, Weston. Come back soon!

Yeah, Weston! What a champ. You are SO HANDSOME! Thanks for giving hope to others. You make me smile. Patrice makes me smile too (when she is not making me cry!). My husband would say I just cry easy! So glad you all got to meet and to connect in a face to face manner. May this lead to MANY years of friendship! Jennifer in Southeast, NC

How neat! I met Dana online awhile ago and we live in the same town. I actually ran into her at Target one day. She gave me your blog address the other day, and I was just checking in and saw this post. That is so awesome! What a small world it is!

Wow - I'm so thrilled for all of you. Weston is obviously an amazing kid, and well, you know how I feel about Jonah! So glad you were able to meet!

Weston and Dana- my family and I live in McKinney - just wanted to let you know that other Texans love you, too!

Jonah - I am so excited to see what God is going to do in your life, and all the things you'll be doing when you're Weston's age!

Love and prayers to all of you!

How special to have met Weston! I live in Kansas and read your blog daily. Jonah is touching so many people in so many ways. He is such a cutie and may I say that you don't look like you had a baby recently! And... I too suffer from the same addiction as you....I am a Targetholic. Maybe we can have a support group...I know, let's meet at Target by the dollar bins!
