bad news, good news

I took this video of Jonah's breathing last night.

Yeah, I know. I don't feel good about it. I sent it to Jonah's doctor and she said she wanted to see us again this morning. It seems to be all upper airway, which may mean that all this viral crud and coughing has either irritated and inflamed or blistered his trachea. We started him on steroids today, but if they don't work, he'll have to go see his ENT again and we'll have to have him scoped like we did two years ago. We're on day 11 of the coughing, mega congestion, throwing up most every meal, and not being able to breathe well at night. We're all over it.

So now we are just praying that the steroids work and we don't have to worry about it anymore (or at least not until his next cold... sigh).

On a happy note, Lauren from Knitting at Lunch donated some of her hand-knit fingerless gloves to auction off for Anton. I posted them over on the Hope for Anton blog and bidding is open NOW until Sunday night at 9pm. It'll be good practice for Jonah's EB Auction. :) They're super cute!

Poor sweet baby - am praying that the steroids will work quickly and that he can breathe again. That is NOT fun.

SO glad you put up a Pampered Chef fundraiser! Maybe too glad - got a little carried away! :)

Hope you all rest tonight and that sweet Jonah is better soon.

Love from TX,
Laura

Ohhhhh, my baby. It hurts me to hear him breathing that way ... that's how Jake has sounded both times he had RSV. I hope Jonah's turns out to be easily treatable and that he'll be back to normal in no time. Love you all!

Poor Jonah. We are in the same throwing up boat as you guys. We clean up throw up every single night due to crying or coughing so hard by my son who just turned 2. It sucks!!

Praying for Jonah this morning! We have got the ick around here again and I cannot imagine the scratchy throat feeling on top of his sores too.... Ouch. Praying for wisdom for drs and quick healing.

Oh my goodness, I felt your agony listening to him. My little girl has asthma and those sounds are terrifying in the night. I know it is so much worse with EB. I'm praying the steroids do a miracle for him!

Awww that doesn't sound fun for his little lungs! I hope meds can get him breathing easier SOON.

Also, thank you so much for linking to my blog and for accepting my gloves! I am excited to see what we can bring in!

Ohhhh boy that would make me nervous too. Have you raised one side of his crib? Maybe it would help if he wasn't lying flat. I sometimes put a couple pillows under the mattress at one end to give it some 'lift' if my little one has a cold or cough. Poor baby... I hope you get some answers today.
