Matt, very intently studying the rosters and stats.
Like, very intently.
Me: "Hey, what's so interesting?" "Oh."
Me: "Hey, look over here. These photos are boring. Don't worry, I'll make them HUGE on blogger so they seem more colorful and interesting... albeit slightly chopped off on the sides."
Me: "Nooooow we're getting to the interesting part."
Jon H., I took this one for you. Now if a certain Father-in-Law starts bragging about making it to home plate, you have photographic evidence of the starting point. What can I say? That's what friends are for.
A real pitch. Sort of. This guy wasn't that good either.
There were a few of these that broke up the monotony, but I have come to the conclusion that I'm just not a baseball girl. (Interestingly enough, they did NOT put up this bright, exciting sign when the OTHER team made a home run.)
A shot of us shortly before...
We left because the guys behind us were sufficiently drunk and increasingly annoying. They were saying stuff like:
Idiot A: Do you know what a "butter face" is?
Idiot B: No, what?
Idiot B: No, what?
Idiot A: An ugly girl with a good body. Everything "butter face" looks good.
AND
Idiot A (in loud, redneck voice): Come on, Man, ask me if I'm havin' a good time?
Idiot B: Are you having a good time?
Idiot A: Does a one-legged duck swim in a circle?
AND
Idiot A: I guess that guy just got back from Mamby-Pampy Land.
Idiot B: (laughs... sort of)
Idiot A: It's going to be great when "Mamby-Pamby Land" gets out. It's going to spread like wildfire. And I started it."
On that note, Matt asked if I was ready to leave and go get dinner. (UM, does a one legged duck swim in a circle???) In my ten years with Matt, I have never known him to leave a sporting event early, so I knew they must be getting on his nerves...
So off to Chili's we went where I ordered the ever-delicious Margarita Grilled Chicken.
The End.
What's that? Who won? Honestly, I DON'T EVEN KNOW. Matt said when we got home that nobody else scored after we left. Huh. You would think that would tell me something. But, nope. NO CLUE AS TO WHO WON THE GAME. But man, I could give you some details on that Margarita Grilled Chicken. Priorities, folks, priorities.

NOT A BASEBALL FAN?! Baseball is what makes the discustingly hot summers worth it :) Go Tigers!
sorry some silly men ruined your night out...well, at least the game...I LOVE CHILI'S! They have the BEST CHIPS EVER!
And, the hub is looking a little TOM CRUISE...ish in the 5th photo!
the Dash is some of the best baseball out there!! J/K obviously!
So glad you had fun (even though you had the village idiots behind you!) Baseball is fun though- would invite you to come down here for a TX Rangers game but we'd all burn up like french fries! :)
YAY for date night!
Love,
Laura
I'm so with you! I'm originally from Spain and never understood baseball. Thankfully my husband is not into it b/c I think it would be rough to endure. That chix sounds awesome though!
P.S. Love the new shoes the little man is wearing!
Hee! What a cute post! I kind of like that one legged duck line - may have to try it out!
Cxx
give me ACC basketball (that is everyone but Carolina)oops..
Baseball is too S>>>L>>>>O>>>>W>>>
besides how can you hit the ball, but then be counted as a NO-hitter (i know, some crap about the other team catching it, but you STILL hit it)..
I have been to one Durham Bulls game in the last few years (when this year on July 3rd) and of course they LOST...it will take me a couple more years before I go back..we had the same idiots setting behind us..Drunk & crazy & they were PARENTS!!!!
Glad you enjoyed Chili's & spending time with your Hubby...
Glad you are feeling in better spirits.
Love & prayers
I just have to tell you... I'm laughing my butt off! LOVED your post!

You look amazing in that photo together! So happy--hooray for date night!
I agree with Rochel's comment!
And does a one legged duck swim in a circle is the best analogy I've heard in a LONG time.
Mmmm...I just discovered the Margarita Grilled Chicken at Chili's! It is so good! Glad you guys had a fun night :)
I love the picture of you two at the game. You are so cute. Glad you had a night out. Sorry for inconsiderate fans.
I loved the Elmo prop!
I'm not a huge baseball fan either but I do love our Mariners.
The "men" behind you remind me of some men sitting behind us at a Los Angeles Kings hockey game, when after listening to them make rude remarks about a certain below the belt body part, I turned around and told them to stop insulting women and start stating facts about their own little body parts. Thankfully they were all short and my husband is 6'6, so they left me alone.
Great pictures.
Patrice,
Just wanted you to know know that I love your blog, your family, and all that goes with it. We pray for you and Jonah (and Matt) on a daily basis. You are a very strong woman and never feel down about what you do as a mother. You are the best! You do the best or better than anyone put in your situation and I really look up to you. You are God sent to Jonah as he is to you. Keep up the GREAT work! Oh, and don't worry about your "blogging slump". It is not a slump to us. Still love just hearing from you even if it is about the dust on the coffee table or the fingerprints on the front door. Such is life. That is the best parts b/c you have been spending time with your lovely son. Keep up it!
Sweet! Great post! I'm so glad you two got away together. I hope that happens a lot. You totally need that.
