jonah and raya and lots of screaming

Remember how I said Raya comes a runnin' when Jonah cries? (Raya is our cat. Pronounced Rye-ah. Spanish for "stripe.") Well now she comes a runnin' when he starts screaming. He's not screaming out of unhappiness or pain, but he just loves to scream. And it apparently drives Raya nuts. She doesn't know what to make of it and can't figure out what's going on. Poor thing. She just wants to know he's okay. I tried to catch Jonah screaming, and he does a little at the very beginning, but then he stops immediately. Things pick up again around 1:30, so you may want to fast forward to there. Again, you may not think it's as funny as I did, so please excuse the camera shaking. (Please also excuse the mess in my house. We were/are in the midst of laundry and Christmas decorating so everything is everywhere.)

Jonah slept all night again last night but still ate 25 ounces today. I feel pretty good about that. I hope it becomes habit. His lip is still bleeding some but is a little better today. Thanks for praying.

That is so cute and funny! Maybe Jonah has realized the kitty comes everytime so does it so kitty will come by him?

Love it! Our very aloof cat Henry becomes such a little mother when anyone in the house is sick, just stays right with you. Any other time? You can't get near him.

Sent our cat running when I turned up the sound, but so does Eli (my 8 mo old) when he screams! Cute!

lol loved that. It is as if the cat is saying "Dude, what's wrong!" I loved that she sniffed him :) Just checking that all is well and moving on!

Too cute. I have three little dogs. While watching your video with the computer sitting on the bed one of my little dogs was putting his head on the screen and looking at me trying to figure out what was going on. We dont have babies in our house yet so Jonah brings all news sounds to this quite place. Very sweet.

Jonah is just excited that Alabama whooped Florida's behind today!I saw daddy's Alabama shirt. Is he gonna teach Jonah to say Roll Tide?

Our Lily cat comes running whenever any of the kids cry. It's too funny.

Jonah is so stinkin' cute right down to his ear-piercing shrieking! He looks SOOOOO long. He must be growing like a weed. Yay for good eating and night-time sleeping. Praying that naptime will get better/more consistent for Jonah.

My daughter has pretty bad reflux too and everytime she eats something so well I immediately think of Jonah and you. Tonight I mix a container of Yo-baby with half a sippy of apple juice. After shaking it up it was like one of those yogurt drinks. It was thick enough for her not to choke, but thin enough for her to drink. I tried it too and it tasted so yummy. maybe Jonah might want him some yogurt smoothie too :)

Aww..Jonah is so CUTE! Your cat cracks me up too, it's almost like "If you guys won't do something about this screaming, I WILL!" haha. Thanks for sharing, I love seeing Jonah, I do think the best part of the video is your giggling in the back ground. Life is great!

That's so funny! Maybe he just screams so the kitty will come see him. :)

That is too funny! Raya looks like she's trying to find Jonah's "off" switch! When our first was born we had a cat named Lumbee who would come running to check on Max whenever he heard himi crying. He would sit in front of the baby swing and watch him while he napped too.

Our cat Tai (who looks just like Raya but has more white on her chest) doesn't care for babies too much but loves to snuggle with the kids now that they are bigger (6, 4,& 2). Our cat Chi (rhymes with key) avoids the kids at all costs (she's a scaredy cat)!

Patrice- so stinkin' cute! That kid had got some lungs! Just so you know- my dogs were quite intrigued by it too! They were both looking at the computer and tilting their heads like "what is that?!"! Too funny!

LOL, that is so sweet. You should put that on America's funniest home videos. Its that cute. I really think he has found a way to get his beloved friend to come to him. I scream, kitty comes. I stay quiet, kitty leaves. Just so cute.

Something I can completely relate to! My daughter (14 mo. today) used to scream like that at about Jonah's age just to hear herself, I think. Now she knows that it gets attention, though and does it when things are not going her way! Maybe he does do it to get Raya to come see him.

I'm so glad to hear that he's sleeping all night and eating well. Probably does a world of good for you and dad!

Very cute! Our dog goes and sits next to Anthony's door when he wakes up from his nap and starts to cry. It's so sweet! It's amazing because he has a tendency to bonk her on the head with his toys, yet she still is very protective of him :)

Still praying for Jonah's lip! I'm glad to hear he is still getting some good ounces in, even with how painful it must be. Hope you're having a great Sunday!

LOL, that was adorable. Every time Jonah would scream, sailor would scream back at him..she had us rolling with them screaming at each other, all she has to do is hear another babe and she joins in LOL

Every time you post about Raya, I get weird goosebumps...it's really strange. Our daughter's name is Raia (pronounced the same way). I never knew it meant stripe!!! We named her after her grandfather, Ray, only I wanted it more feminine, hence the 'i' in it. We are also a cat family. I won't tell you how many cats we have because then you'd just think we were weird! LOL! Luckily I have convinced my husband to move the cats outside and build them shelter on the back porch, because they were beginning to take over...yeah...weird.

I hope Baby Jonut's lip gets better soon, I know its no fun having a sore lip! I pray that God will heal it quickly, and that Jonah will continue his good eating!!

That is funny! Just as funny, both my dog and one of three cats ran up to me to see what was going on when I watched the video...interesting! Glad to hear he's doing well (besided the no napping...I would go crazy)

That is hilarious that the cat runs in! Our cat runs into the room and purrs and rubs on me whenever I yell. Like mad yelling at the kids or something. :ahem:

And hey, awesome shirt!! Roll Tide! Goin' to Pasadena!

I agree in thinking that Jonah has discovered that he can control the kitty....so it begins!!
