We've had a pretty good weekend and DID make it to church this morning. Woohoo! Unfortunately, Jonah gushed everywhere on the way home (he had several gushers on Friday too...???), but other than that the day has gone smoothly. He's been in a great mood despite not napping. I spent three hours this afternoon decorating the front porch while Matt kept Jonah inside (it was super cold here today), watched football, and did the mountains of laundry we had sitting in our closet. The porch looks great, but I literally could not feel my big toes by the time it was all over. And don't even get me started on lights brand new out of the box that are half burnt out. Talk about the temptation to cuss - below freezing temperatures, wrestling with garland, untangling lights, burnt out bulbs. It doesn't exactly inspire you to call on your inner holiday spirit... or the Holy Spirit, for that matter. Grrr.
I will have some photos coming of our decorations and Jonah hanging the very first ornament, but I want to put my house back together before I take the rest.
Please bear with me if I don't post as much this week. I'm feeling completely overwhelmed with straightening and better organizing my house, addressing and stamping Christmas cards, finishing my shopping, and uploading and printing photos of Jonah for family. And did I mention that Jonah doesn't nap? :) Blogging may just have to fall through the cracks until the craziness dies down a little.
Here are some pics from before bedtime tonight.

Aw, he's so darn cute! And his lip looks a little better too!
What a cutie! I love to read your blog, you're always so positive and I can tell that you're such a great mom to Jonah. He is adorable and his lip, along with from what I can tell, the rest of his face, is looking really good! Can't wait to see the holiday pictures. :)
His face looks great, and his lip is looking better too! I feel ya on the Christmas lights business. My little girl was begging me to put up lights so I went and bought some, and when it was time to put them up she came outside for about 2 minutes and then told me it was too cold and she needed to go warm up. So I did it by myself, in the freezing cold Wisconsin weather! But they look darn good! I will miss your posts, but you take as much time as you need to keep your sanity!

About the lights ... I just bought one SINGLE strand of R2D2 lights for the boys' tree for $20. I KNOW. Anyway, when I took them out of the box and read the instructions/warnings, it said, "This set of lights WILL NOT WORK if one or more bulbs burns out." Talk about cussing. I wanted to say Very Bad Words. I've already decided that when the first bulb burns out, the lights will just become one strand of Tiny Ornaments. I will still use them on the tree, but they will never again be illuminated. GRRRRRRRRR.
His lip looks soooo much better!!
He looks great.. his face is really clear from big blisters too!
My husband sees me read your blog all the time (We sit back to back in our office..) He turned around when I said.. AWWW and said "His face is looking good." And just turned back around! :)
Gotta love men...
Keep doing what you're doing.. it may not seem like its working. But it is..
You're never alone in your prayers...
The second picture you posted is way too cute! I will keep praying for Jonah and for you. God bless.
Hi, I don't comment much, but you have the most beautiful baby! His smile can light up a room.
Why is it that blue-eyed blonde-haired babies look about 1,000,000 times cuter dressed in green? I try to dress Leah in shades of green but it's really hard to find baby girl clothes that aren't pink or purple!
His lip does look better!! Are you using Boudreaux's Baby Kisses on it? I love that stuff.
Hugs, kisses and prayers to you guys!
Oh that little face!
Cxx
I love love love that little spiky tuft of hair he has on top!
Oh, good gracious! No naps? And new lights that burn out? I'm angry FOR you! Hang in there--you're such a good mommy.
Hi Patrice:
He sure does look adorable. The lip looks so much better. Hope you have a great week getting the house all ready for Christmas. It is my favorite time of year. This year will be so special. Leah's First Christmas. I am sure your family feels the same way! Take care and give Jonah a hug for me. Thanks, Love Leah's Nana
We had the very same thing happen with our brand new strand of Christmas lights last night. It was very frustrating, and confusing, since it as a strand of 200 lights and only a section of 50 weren't working. Amazingly my husband found the culprit bulb. (Yes he tested each and every one of the 50 that were out). It ended up that the bulb had a crooked wire that wasn't making good contact. Sorry about your lights! I totally felt your same frustration though. Jonah is absolutely adorable in the pictures and I cannot wait to see more pictures of the decorating! Hope you have a great Monday. :)
I love the pictures of Jonah and patiently await the pictures of your decorations. :o)

How cute is he sitting up! You're brave to fight to cold decorating, I stick the inside decorating haha.

Enjoy your Christmas time. Hoping to see adorable pictures.

You are not alone in the pre-Christmas business causing a blogging slump. I feel the same way. Overwhelmed!
let me just say:
A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!!!
What precious pics of Jonah, he is growing up so fast. Enjoy your week.
I love the blue eyes - they are amazing!
Hi Patrice,
I commented when Jonah was first born. I love reading your blog. You are humorous and honest at the same time, and I love that. Our son has some gross motor delays that have caused us to go through an array of therapies and tests. While I don't pretend to understand what a day in your life is like, I do relate to how easy it is to get frustrated with the situation. Know that you are not alone in that. I also applaud the fact you blog so often. I went from blogging every day when my son was a newborn to getting lucky if I get one post out a month. You certainly deserve some time off from blogging during the holidays. However, I'll anxiously await your return. Jonah is precious. As always your family is in my prayers.
He is very sweet and lovely.Wish him a complete recovery sooner or later.
