he finally did it!

Very quick tonight...

Jonah had me up a lot last night, and I am completely exhausted. (AND we haven't set up for tomorrow's dressing change yet.)

The big news from today:

JONAH ROLLED OVER (finally) ALL BY HIMSELF!

He only did it once and hasn't done it since, but he most definitely (with verbal coaxing and toy dangling from me) rolled over from his back to stomach. He keeps trying to do it again, but with his arm being so thick and bandaged, he really has a hard time getting over it. When he did it earlier today, he had his arm up, elbow out of the way, so it was easier.

He's so sweet. Kathryn was here and saw him do it, and she and I yelled so much and so loud, I was sure we were going to make him cry. But nope. He just smiled and smiled so proud of himself. And then he immediately got ticked that he was on his stomach. And then we called Daddy. :)

Okay, gotta run and set up. And then it's off to bed.

I'll try to get Jonah on video rolling... you know, if he ever decides to do it again. I'm not holding my breath. That boy has a mind of his own (and a pretty feisty attitude too... I don't know where he gets that.)

That's great! Today is a day for milestones. My daughter peepee'd in her potty tonight for the first time! I'm sure he'll be crawling around before you know it.

Congratulations to Jonah! It's so exciting to see every new milestone.

I know with both of my kids they rolled over and then waited a very long time to do it again. It's like they were so proud of themselves for doing it once, they didn't feel the need to do it again.

That's the hardest way too! From stomach to back is easier, so that makes him even more talented!!

Congratulations Mama! You're on the horizon of a whole new phase of parenting! Of course, it's all wonderfully joyful. Each of my five babies did "the roll" and then nothin' for weeks. My husband wondered if I really saw what I thought I saw. Then it happened again...and again...and again! Seems that most milestones occurred in this fashion.

Oh, you're experiencing such wonderful days...enjoy them all for they go so fast! Keep the "progress reports" coming, we love to cheer Jonah on through the wires!

YAY! I knew as soon as I saw the title of your post that "he finally did it"!!
Congrats to you all! Firsts are funny...We wait and wait and wait and are so excited when they happen but when I think further on them I feel just a moment of sadness because that first will never be had again, so then it becomes a last.
Thanks for sharing this with us!!

At least you had a witness! My kids always do it for the first time with me and no one else is around so no one belives me! Then they FINALLY do it again about 3 weeks later in front of someone else. YEAH Jonah :)

I've been a "silent follower" on your blog for sometime :) But I just had to comment when I saw that he rolled over! Such a HUGE milestone! I too have a son with extra medical needs, not nearly to the extent that you do, but it does make those moments even more special!
