foot update - take three

Just finished dressing change, and the skin on the huge blister is still intact. Praise God! There is another smaller area on that same foot where the skin has sloughed off, thus the blood, but it didn't seem to bother him when the water hit it today.

We're still having to be very careful, because one wrong jerk of his leg or letting him hit his foot with his other one, and that skin will be off. I feel like I'm holding my breath from the time we unwrap that leg to the time when we get it successfully wrapped again. He's a champ and continues to amaze me every day!

He's not eating well at all. He only took two ounces before bed last night, wouldn't eat at all during the night (we tried twice), and only took three and a half ounces this morning. We're going to try again here in a few minutes, and I'm hoping it will go better. He had a tongue blister last night so I'm hoping that was some of the problem. It has drained now, but still didn't make him eat well this morning. I would LOVE a good feeding before we leave... It is a BEAUTIFUL fall day here today. I'm totally pumped for Jonah's first time at the fair. Praying for no irreparable damage (in the form of gushing vomits or anything else he might happen to come up with five minutes before we walk out the door).

1,000 pound pumpkin, HERE WE COME!

I love the fair - you guys are going to have so much fun!!!

on the tongue blister/eating issue - when I have blisters in my mouth - obviously, swallowing is an issue because it irritates the blister, as soon as the blister "pops" it is easier to swallow, but the area burns when food/liquid hits it. It usually takes a day or 2 for mine to stop hurting.

Hopefully his will get better quickly!!

Have so much fun with that 1000 lb pumpkin - oh the cake I could make with that!!! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin scones, pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin muffins..... YUM...

Still praying for Jonah's foot blisters and that you will have a glorious time at the fair. If possible getting a pic of Jonah with "The Great Pumpkin" would be super. Have a wondeful weekend.

God Bless and love you to Heaven and back,
Mimmy

Enjoy the fair!

I have been visiting your blog sporadically since you son was born and it has been amazing to watch your journey from the outside.

My third child, 1st daughter, was stillborn about 2 years ago.

Anyways, why I am posting today after all this time I have no idea, but I guess when I was reading through your posts from the last week or so I just felt like saying hi!

Blessings to you,

Heidi

Hooray, God, that the skin is still intact. :) It's crazy how He cares even about little things like that, hey? I was talking with a friend the other day about how cool it is that God knows how many hairs are on our head. She's currently kicking some cancer butt (sorry--can I say that on here?), so she was laughing about how it's cool, just not nearly as impressive to her since she currently has, like, four hairs. But then--in a moment of seriousness--she pointed out that what's even cooler than God knowing how many hairs are on our heads, is that God *cares* to know how many hairs are on our heads.

Yeah.

Wow.

I just don't understand why one little precious boy has to endure so much discomfort, pain and abnormal living. I'm a little sad for all of you today for what you have to go through each day, yet I'm happy that you're able to have a family outing. Only our loving God knows what's up with all of this . . . and if we are Chrisitans, we have to trust Him.

Love,
Sandy in King
