God is good

I won't really count this as a post tonight, because I'm very tired. It's my night to get up with Jonah, so I think I should take advantage of going to bed "early." I love blogging, but I'm so freakishly OCD about it, and pictures take so long to upload, I can easily put an hour into a post.

Jonah weighed 17 lbs, 6 oz today. That means he has gained six ounces between Thursday and today. And I'd say he's having more gushers than he's ever had before. How 'bout them apples? I continue to be amazed at what God is doing, and honestly God is the only explanation for Jonah's continued growth and great health. I'm blown away. And to think we weren't even sure he'd make it out of the hospital. I can't believe we are approaching seven months... without a g-tube, without a trach, without an infection, growing like a weed. I'm in awe.

Did I mention how amazing my God is? It is so evident to us that His hand is on Jonah and that a legion of angels surround him. I'm so thankful.

AND we got to take a walk tonight.

God is good.

I'm glad you got to go on a walk tonight. I hope Jonah enjoyed the nice weather.

Yay to putting on the pounds!! Even though he's gushing, it probably means his body is retaining the much needed nutrients from the food before he gushes. Yay, God!!

Praise God! What a special blessing-the weight gain AND the walk :)
We continue to pray for you!

Question...when you load pictures do you have a way to shrink the file size? I started doing that and my pictures load infinitely faster...I shrink the file size as small as possible, and the picture still looks great when I use the 'large' setting on blogger. Just a tip :) I shrink it on photoshop, but I'm sure there's a way to do it without photoshop.

I have heard many times that babies who vomit usually do take in more calories than you think. It looks like a lot came out, but it's not as much as you would think. So clearly he's getting what he needs and growing into a cute little chubber!!

I agree that God has been very good to you and your family. I'm amazed just from reading each day. I'm so happy that you got to take a walk. It means everything to us stay-at-home mommies to get out of the house.

His weight is fantastic! My boys didn't weigh that until they were 18 months old! And they were both huge pukers and 7lb babies. You are doing a fantastic job! Both of my boys are still little. My 6 year old is only 35lbs! I wouldn't be worring so much about his weight or how much he is or isn't eating. He is doing fantastic. And looking great as well.

Hi Patrice,

I came across your blog a few days ago and have added Jonah and your family to my prayer list. I've also added his buttons on my blog. I have a 5 month old son and your son reminds me so much of my own. If you get a chance, check out Caleb's blog. God bless you all!

Are you a mac or a PC user? I use a PC and downloaded Windows Live Writer (free!) to write posts for my blog. It makes putting editing and putting pictures on the blog soooo much easier. I think the pictures look a little better too for some reason.
