HE LIVES

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;

But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;

And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

This is just perfect... brought tears to my eyes... you've crossed that river with Gabe; and you've held the newborn baby with Jonah...

The day my 4 year old daughter was dedicated, her father and I sang "Because He Lives" as part of the morning service. One of the elderly members of the congregation had died that week and it just seemed so appropriate - the contrast with the new life and the one that was experiencing new life "on the other side."

May you and yours have a very blessed Easter... bet Jonah will like the "candy!" My Mum took my little girl on an egg hunt today... I just wished I'd been there to see it!

I meant my daughter is 4 now - she was just a few weeks old when dedicated... sorry for the confusion!

Tears, tears, tears. This was my grandmother's favorite hymn, and I miss her so much on this Easter day. And I have to tell you this too--the word verification made-up word I have to enter to post this is "copingly"--no lie! How appropriate. What a blessing and picture of Jesus you are, Patrice.
