a few more pics

After his first full jar of baby food EVER.

And the BEST PRESENT OF ALL...

This last picture was post roll over incident. And don't ask me where the huge one under his eye came from. It was just one of those that started out small, and no matter how much I drained it, it just kept growing. Oh well. He'll heal. He always does. I need to stop getting my hopes up about his face though. As soon as it clears up, more come. Maybe one day, but for now, while he's a baby and doesn't know what he's doing, there's very little we can do to stop him from hurting himself.
Jonah ate 24 ounces today but refused all solids. Each bottle has been much more of a struggle these last couple days than it had been, but we'll keep on pushing through. He was so fussy all day today except maybe the last hour before he went to bed. I think it's probably teething, but he didn't settle down until we gave him Motrin (about four hours after a Tylenol dose). He had us up seven times last night between 8:45 pm and 7:15 this morning. I'm not complaining, but I'm just a little worried about him. He's obviously feeling bad, and he's sounding slightly hoarse. He doesn't have a runny nose or fever though, so I'm hoping it's nothing.
Well I'm very tired tonight after our rough night last night, so off to bed.

Love the photos...and I think he is so beautiful. Love the one of him in the box. I sure hope everything is ok and he is just over tired from all the festivities. I hope you all get a good nights sleep...and I never think you are complaining! You are such a wonderful mom. Love from our family to yours.

Just found this...thought I would share. Women are like tea, you never know how strong they are until you put them in hot water.

When M was teething what worked best were Teething Tablets (behind the counter at the pharmacy). They are amazing and seriously the only thing that worked with her.

And, after a bunch of company or a holiday, birthday etc, it takes a day or 2 to get her "straight". She has always been like that. Even got in trouble her first day back to school after Thanksgiving! I would give him a day or so before really worrying.

Those pics are ADORABLE!

I know you mentioned in your last post that the first full jar of baby food that Jonah ate was Earth's Best...my daughter LOVED anything made by Earth's Best (that is, until we got to the stage 3 foods). And as strange as it sounds, I tasted every one of the different kinds that she ate, and to me they didn't taste all that bad. Some of them were actually very palatable, not that I'm interested in eating babyfood, but just saying. So hopefully Jonah will continue to like their baby food and will begin eating it more consistently for you. I hope and pray that he will!! Loved seeing the new pictures of hime also. I'm a daily reader (or as often as you post), but infrequent commenter. Take care and hope you get more rest tonight.

Love Jonah rockin' the baby food goatee! (And Matt looks so festive in his bow - hee hee!)

I'll pray for Jonah to get back into his groove and for healing quickly if he's catching a cold. He's been on my mind alot today - as have you, so I'll take this as the Holy Spirit's prompting for extra prayer. Hope you can all get some rest this evening!

Love from TX!

PS - those teething tablets Janel's talkng about are AMAZING. They look like little saccharine tablets, dissolve quickly and work almost instantly. In fact, the bottle tells you not to be alarmed if your child suddenly starts sleeping - that's how fast they work! Hope that will be an option for you!

I love the picture of Jonah in the box! Simplicity.

Even if you were complaining it would be perfectly OK and understandable and no one of us would judge you. You are a Mom and it's not always a piece of cake.

You are amazing. You are one of the bravest, strongest women I know. Jonah is so blessed to get to call you mom.

I'll have the card into the mail to you on Monday. Thank you for sending it on for me.

I love the new pictures. They are amazing! I can't believe Jonah is getting so big! I have been following you guys since he was so very little. Right after he was born I think.

I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling. When I read on the Sheridan's blog about Leah, I knew right away that your heart would be breaking. I can so identify with the disbelief you have with Jonah having EB. Why is there even such a thing that can happen? My son has a rare disorder too, but nothing like what you are facing. I couldn't even begin to compare what he has been through with what Jonah endures EVERY day. I can't imagine how hard it is to keep your faith through all of this. You are an amazing mother and woman. You and Jonah and all the EB kids I have been made aware of because of you have amazed me. I am the one with mouth agape....you are all getting through this, you still have your faith. It is crazy how we find strength we never knew we had, get through things we never imagined we would. So, have your days where you are mad, angry and want to throw things and scream at the top of your lungs. It's OK. Then look at your sweet little Jonah and feel all that love you have for him. God is walking through this with you. He knows you need Him and He is there. Wish I could be there to give you a great big hug.

Oh, I am so excited that Jonah ate an entire jar of baby food! Wow! Hope he settles down in the next couple of days after things get back to normal.

Much love and big hugs to you and your family.

He is such a handsome little guy.

I was just catching up on your posts and was so saddened to read about Leah's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Happy 2010 to you and yours.

I have been following you since Jonah was born. After what little Leah passed away, I felt led to go back and re-read your posts from the time Johah was born until he went home. I also watched the Stanford video on dressing change that you referred to in a couple of the posts. I feel for Leah's mom, and I feel for you, and I don't know how to help. I guess I was just trying to get more understanding for this disease, more knowledge about what you go through on a daily basis. I feel so helpless in the face of this terrible disease, and feel so sad for Leah's parents. What can I do for you?

I want the box with the boy in it!!! That is the best present in the world.

Hopefully when all the family goes home & you get back to your "normal" routine Jonah will settled down to eating & sleeping again. Too much excitement going on for him to want to waste time sleeping (he might miss something) Ha!!

Glad to read the last post about the auction for eb..I will send katie an email...she can count me in for a donation...also glad to hear/read some upbeat sound in that last post...I know the last several you could hear the pain & sadness due to the loss of Leah.

Praying for Meg & Jeff to find comfort, peace & strength from God to get through this horrible time. Also, praying for God to continue to give comfort, peace & strength to you & Matt.

Love & prayers
