jonah's eb auction

I'm totally pumped about something my friend, Katie, is organizing to raise funds for DebRA.

She is organizing an auction in conjunction with Jonah's First Birthday, where you can bid on items and all the proceeds will go to DebRA. More details to come, but essentially the auction will be set up on a blog site, with each item being its own separate entry. And all you'll have to do is sign up to participate and then bid in the comments of each post for whichever items you are interested in. It will run for the five days before Jonah's birthday (February 27th).

So... how can you help?

So glad you asked.

If you have a company or work for a company that could donate items/gift cards for the auction, that would be so awesome. If we have success this year, we're hoping this can be an annual fundraiser to fund EB research and family advocacy. And if you don't have a "product" you can donate, would your business/corporation consider purchasing and donating a gift card for the auction? For example: One $100 Chili's gift card compliments of PatriceRocks Industries.

You get the idea.

I know a lot of you have said you'd love to do more and just don't know how to help from far away. Well, here you go.

I think this is such a cool idea and I'm so excited I'm literally kinda jittery as I type this.

If you have something (or a gift card compliments of...) you can donate, could you please email Katie at:

jonahsebauction (AT) gmail (DOT) com.

Thank you so much, Katie. You're the coolest.

How exciting!! I can't wait to see what all sorts of goodies you can get.

I know. ;)

By the way, did I mention that there might be a giveaway involved for readers that help get the word out? Cuz there might. They could possibly be entered to win a gift card or something. But as you put it, I can't rightly say. :)

LOVE the auction idea. Love how you rebound. So glad you give yourself time to feel down and all but then you rally. I love Jonah and all about him. This is a great thing and I am so glad that Katie thought of it and that you shared it with us! God is so good!

Very exciting. My husband does beautiful woodworking (he's making our living furniture--mission style) and I am sure he can make something.
A wine rack?
A bread bowl?
Make a suggestion.

Hi Patrice! I'm a 'lurker' of sorts on your blog. I went to college with Rhys, and found your blog through Lia's blog. At any rate, I'm a manager at Panera and would love to donate a gift card for the auction. I'll talk with our corporate donations department about what's possible and get with Katie, but let's just say this whole thing is exciting enough to bring me out of the woodwork! :) Happy New Year!

Patrice, I just sent a message to Katie about donating a necklace/bracelet jewelry set (not sure I specified that though LOL). I make beaded jewelry and would be thrilled to donate something in honor of Jonah's birthday auction! I included my email and phone numbers and would be happy to send pictures and we can talk about style/color/stones, etc :D

As always, you all are in our prayers!

I think a 'normal' weekend is pretty eventful!!!

Is there a button for the auction we could put on our blogs?
