Some photos from the last couple days.
I tried giving Jonah a paci today in attempts to stop his (really-going-to-send-me-over-the-edge) teeth grinding. I don't know how he's grinding his teeth. He has two on the bottom and a tiny little itsy bitsy sliver of a tooth on top. Apparently that sliver can do a lot of damage. Seriously though, besides it making me completely mental, I am a little concerned that it is going to wear down his already weak teeth.
I played around with my new Photoshop actions (thanks, Katie!) on these, but don't ask me what's what. I have no idea. I was just clicking stuff.

I know you have grave concerns about his nutrition and weight gain, but may I say he has the cutest chubby cheeks now. He doesn't LOOK like he misses many meals!!
He is so sweet and I wish I could kiss those cheeks. You are so brave Patrice...an amazing mama. Praying for you tonight.
Ah! Jonah is just adorable! I read the previous post and I am so sorry for the rough patch you're currently experiencing, but look at that sweet face! Such a cutie!
Praying things resolve and get better quickly!
Jonah has the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen. You can tell just by looking at his eyes that there is something special about him. Will continue to pray daily for you and your family.
Oh Patrice, he is such a beautiful baby! I love the pic of him peeking out from the blanket!
LOVE the one of him peeking out from behind (is that a blanket? stuffed animal? doesn't matter, it's SO CUTE) - he has such gorgeous eyes! And I always giggle when I see Jonah's faux hawk.
Patrice - he is turning into such a big, adorable guy. His eyes are amazing. I love what you did what the photos. I have been playing with angles on my photos, and have been very happy with the perspective. Keep experimenting.
Aww, he is so sweet! My (now sixteen month) son would grind his teeth horribly when his third tooth was growing through. Maybe that is normal?? Now that he has four teeth he does not do it - weird. I hated the noise, but one day he just stopped.
simply a beautiful boy
i am soooo happy to see some new pictures of your sweet precious jonah! i could eat him up! i don't want to sound wierd but ya'll live in NC right? my MIL lives in near Raleigh and we will be there after Christmas and i was wondering if ya'll were gonna be home and if it was convenient for you and not too far away i was hoping i could come meet you and jonut in person. He looks great Patrice! What a chunky monkey! :) We got our Christmas card from you guys today! We all loved it, it is beautiful. Dawson, my 3 year old, kept telling everyone that came in the door today "see baby Jonah, we pray for him". (We decorate the back of our front door with all our cards and pictures from Christmastime.)
Oh, I get shivers just thinking about that teeth grinding noise! Haha. All 3 of my kids did that when they first got their teeth, but none of them kept the habit. Hopefully he won't either! I think its just a new thing, having to teeth to rub together. Love the new pics!
He has got the most beautiful blue eyes. He is absolutely adorable!
He's so cute! Praying his eating will improve. God is faithful and loves and cares for Jonah even more than you do! I have enjoyed reading your blog since Jonah's birth and I am very impressed with you and your husband. Keep trusting God and keep kissing that sweet baby!
Love the new pictures of Jonah! He is such a cutie!
I agree with "otherwise known as mom"! Jonah has that adorable baby chubbiness!!!
What a precious baby! Love his mohawk!
Patrice, I don't know if the following is appropriate for a baby, but it works for my 4-year-old son. I put Benefiber (well, the Wal-Mart equivalent) in his drink morning and evening to help with his constipation issues. It doesn't mix well in a cold drink, but you probably aren't giving Jonah something that cold anyway.
I like the photos that took out some of the red of Jonah's owies. Those are similar to ones my friend printed of our son when he was first born, all icky in color but so nice in black and white or other enhancement.
Hugs in Christ!
Sweet! I love Jonah photo posts! And can not get enough of those blue eyes! Oh my!
Blessings!
Jonah looks absolutely adorable with the paci! I can't believe how his looks are changing. He is really growing up. His face is loosing that baby look! Yikes!! So beautiful!! Thinking and praying for you all!
Aaahhh - teeth grinding. Drives me nuts too. I have no suggestions for you and will be reading all your comments to see if anyone has any good tips. My daughter won't take a pacifier (she is also too old for one) and doesn't eat orally so I can't try shoving food in her mouth. It is the most annoying habit ever!!!
BABY BLUE EYES!
My daughters had teething rings that I could chill for them to use. Don't know if that could be used in Jonah's case.
Hate teeth grinding. Younger daughter did that in her sleep.
Woah, that baby man is SERIOUSLY cute! Love the "Jonah Jump Up"!
I have been reading about and praying for your family for quite some time (found you through Kelly's Korner). Every time I see a picture of your little guy, I just think that he is so gorgeous! He seems to have such a strong, joyful spirit. Both he and you inspire me daily.
LOVE those eyes!! Jonah is such a cutie - Caroline will love looking at these (alas, I always seem to get out here way after her bedtime!)
Hope today was a better eating day. And I totally understand about the teeth grinding. That has to be right up there with fingernails on the chalkboard!
Love from TX!
Laura
Those pictures are awesome. I love the one with him peeking out from behind the blanket & that next to last one in the jumping johnny--not sure what that face was, but it was priceless. Of course when I think about it, I love each of them.
Thanks for the Christmas card, it is a great picture of all 3 of you--right now it is on the piano in the living room, but after Christmas it goes to work to be added to cabinet with his birth announcement.
I will soon have a Jonah "wall" on my filing cabinet--his birth announcement, magnet & now the Christmas card. I get to tell a lot of people about Jonah & EB--especially since I am in a medical office. I figure all the exposure about Jonah & Eb can only help the cause.
Hoping the eating & pooping issues have resolved & that you have a much better day.
Love & Prayers
Wanda
I love the picture of Jonah peeking out from the blankets! So cute! My 12 month old grinds her teeth...that sound is TERRIBLE :) I hope the paci distracts him!
Thanks for new photos! I love his blue eyes!!
Still the most gorgeous little boy and his eyes are just amazing! He really does look like he is filling out. Those cheeks are too cute! As alyways, Jonah is in our thoughs and prayers!
He is adorable!
My daughter used to grind her teeth at that age and the dr said it was because it makes some sort of neurological connection or something like that - don't remember exactly, it was 13 years ago but check it out - it might not be a bad thing for him to do.
Oh, the sweet sound of grinding teeth...yikes! I know exactly what you mean, but I hope that it will be short lived for you guys like it was for us. My son did it when his top 2 teeth were coming in (that is actually how I learned the top 2 were coming through). About as quickly as he started, he stopped. I would say it lasted about a week or maybe a little longer. Jonah is just precious, by the way!! I love checking in you guys and I pray for a miracle for you every day!
God Bless,
Brie
Oh my goodness those eyes, he is too cute for words....seriously, baby model cute. His EB is not holding his cuteness back one bit. I love this kid!
What a cutie! Those pictures are all so precious. Some babies just show their spirit all over their faces and Jonah is one of those babies. It's hard not to want to just give him a big old hug!

He is just ADORABLE!!! What a sweet little guy!
Little Jonah is in my prayers.
Photoshop or no, he is just a handsome little man!
ADORABLE! How does he like the jumper (ours never really took to it)?
Oh, those eyes just make me smile:)He is beautiful! Praying you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.
Hi Patrice-
FYI
DebRA's Patient Care Conference will be held on June 17-20, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. More details to follow on the DebRA website...
Best regards,
Geri
I am completely in love with your little boy! He is absolutely precious! You are doing an amazing job with Jonah!
He is so cute! In a few of those pictures he looked more like a toddler than a baby. They grow up sooooo fast.
ahhh i just wanna grab him outta the screen! (Not in a creepy way, of course!) He is so incredibly CUTE!
My son, C, grinded his teeth when they first came in and then one day I just realized he wasn't doing it anymore! I know it can drive you (and me) crazy but 99% of the time they stop!
He is really starting to look like a big boy! Merry Christmas.
HI Patrice, JOnah is getting so big and he is such a cute lil' one.
Just really wanted to say hello and to let you know Jonah yourself and your hubby are always in my thoughts and prayers. ;)
Patricia
Jomah is as cute as they come. His chubby cheeks are precious.

Hello sweet Patrice,
I have been a dental assistant in a pediatric dental office for the past 5 years and I have a little advice about teeth grinding...
The GOOD news....
* he will probably grow out of it, it is very common for a child to grind their teeth especially while they are teething, or prior to their little molars erupting. Some continue to grind their teeth until about age 6 or 7 when the perm. molars erupt. The reason why children grind is because the baby teeth don't fit together as well as the perm. ones do, hence causing them to grind.
The BAD news is....
* There is nothing that you can do right now to prevent him from grinding, you can discourage him all you want, but when you're not looking, or when he is asleep he's gonna grind away. You can't really fit him for a night guard right now, or anything to prevent the grinding, so you just have to deal with it...sorry!
It takes A LOT of grinding, for problems to be caused by grinding, but I know that you have mentioned that his little toofers are weakened already because of EB.
My advice to you is to keep his little teeth as clean as possible. Brush 2 times a day (the most important time being at night just before bed) and never never never let him have anything else to eat / drink after you brush at night other than water! Did I mention that you need to floss too?? Yup those precious little baby teeth can get nasty cavities in between them if you don't floss!!!
Okay did I over whelm you??? If I did, i'm really sorry. If you have any other teeth questions....just let me know!
Still praying for you guys! We love you!
I read your blog daily (well, I check it daily, you don't always get to post each day)...I love you and your family. I only comment on occassion, but I just had to on this one: Jonut is just sooooo cute, I can hardle stand that grin! It melts me every time!
My son was on the soy version of pediasure...and we had to flavor it with strawberry syrup to get him to drink it.
((HUGS))
Man, that little guy is cute! His eyes are amazing.
My kids grind their teeth too. I think babies do it just because they can, but my 6 yr old does it in his sleep. He has woken me up at night with the sound of it coming from his room. Sounds like a squirrel is in the house! His pediatric dentist assures me every check up that baby teeth are made to be worn down. He said it should stop soon unless the parents are teeth grinders.
I happened upon your blog several months ago from I believe Mckmama's blog & check it daily. I must say, you are an inspiring mother! Jonah is so very lucky to have you. I have 4 little ones, well I guess the 10 year old is not that "little" anymore, but we had relatively minor health issues (compared to what others go through) with our two oldest when they were little. Our second still has some...he had about 15 surgeries last year to correct a shortened femur, which went amazingly well. Oh yes, this wasn't meant to be a comment about "me." Sorry I'm easily side-tracked. haha Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I think you're amazing. Jonah is an absolute doll!! Praying for you & your family. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. You truly are an angel on earth. Merry Christmas!! May you have a fabulous time.
Brenda K.
Haven't visited in a while..he sure has grown, and he sure (still)is a complete cutie-pie. He just sparkles with joy and fun!
