quick update

Very quick because I want a good night's sleep (and it's my night to get up with Baby Jo).

Yesterday he ate 25.6 oz!

Today he ate 20.8 oz, but we went up to my Maw-Maw's house for an early Thanksgiving, so we missed a feeding. He fell asleep in the car on the way up there, and once he woke up, refused to eat. So he didn't eat between 8:45am and 2:45pm. I guess it's things like that that make me feel like the g-tube is a good idea. If he's still only eating when he sleeps, that's a problem. We need a backup for when things happen like they did today and he naps in the car. He should be able to nap when he wants without us having to worry about losing a feeding.

We have our appointments with the pediatric surgeon and the anesthesiologist tomorrow starting at 10:00am. I'm nervous but ready to get this process started. The sooner it gets started, the sooner we can get it over with.

At this point, we are planning to reschedule the surgery until after Thanksgiving since Jonah is continuing to eat well. But I'm hoping we can do it the week after. I'm tired of having to think about it.

Yeah!!! I'm glad to hear he did well this weekend and you were able to get out! Is he throwing up like he was before? If not that is some great eating Jonah!!! We will pray for tomorrow.

I am glad to hear he is eating well and you are able to get out a bit. :) I am still praying that you would have a concrete knowing within you that you are doing what is best for Jonah. That there would be no need to second guess. God is a God of miracles, but sometimes they take time. May God pour His blessings out on each of you.

]Glad he had another good day of eating - and the 20.5 oz wasn't too awful, either, right? But I agree - you need to know he's getting all the nutrition he needs, as well as the right amount of sleep.

Will be anxious to hear how things go tomorrow - and am praying for wisdom for you, Matt and the doctors.

And of course for sweet Jonah.

Love,
Laura

I hope his good eating days continue! I'm sure the surgeon will have advice for you. What is the recovery time for the insertion of a g-tube?

So happy to here you were able to get out for your early Thanksgiving & that Jonah still ate very good. I will be praying for the dr's appts today. May God guide their hands/minds & may He give you & Matt comfort & peace about your decision.

Praying that Jonah will continue to eat & the g-tube will be used for backup & to give him meds...maybe if you can keep everything that tastes horrible out of his month, his eating will continue to improve.

Lots of love & prayers are being sent your way

Hi Patrice:
So glad that Jonah is eating a little bit better and that the operation can be done after Thanksgiving. Will be praying that the appointment goes well and you can find some peace with your decision. You are an AWESOME mommy and Jonah is very lucky to have you and Matt. Hang in there and give Jonah a kiss from Leah's Nana. Take care!!!

Glad to hear about the eating success! Praying for you and you move along with the plans for the g-tube. I'm at work right now...getting a break while the little girl I nanny for is sleeping. Olivia (who is Jonah's same age) and I pray for Jonah all the time, and this morning I decided to show her a picture of the little guy we've been praying for! I wish you could of seen her eyes light up when she saw him! Love at first sight? Perhaps!

Continuing to pray. Happy Thanksgiving!

So glad to hear that Jonah is continuing on with his good eating. Have you stuck with the new plan? It must be working wonderfully since he is turning into such a champion eater! Will continue to pray today as you meet with the surgeon and anesthesiologist that they will be humble and willing to do whatever is necessary for Jonah! Praying for continued great news!

You will have our prayers whenever the surgery may be. I must say that for us the g-tube WAS a God sent miracle and I know that my child would likely not be alive (or be in WAY worse condition) without that mickey button! I just KNOW in my heart that this will bring you some welcome relief. Every time I hook Ky up to her pump I think of you and Jonah and say a prayer that God provides as much comfort through the tube for you as He has for us.

Many hugs and prayers!
