jonah's foot

We didn't get out today, but it was a decent (but long) day overall. Jonah had a huge blow out and had vomited down my back by 9:30 am, so I was afraid it was shaping up to be one of those days. He did have another big gusher later in the day (thankfully we were out on the deck at the time), but other than that, it turned out alright.

I don't have a whole lot to say (and I'm trying to watch Glee), but just wanted to ask for prayers for Jonah's foot. He has a huge blister on his right foot that starts in the middle of the top side and wraps completely around to the middle of the underneath side. And it's causing him a lot of pain. Actually, it's one of the worst I've seen as far as how much it's hurting him. I tried to drain it yesterday, but he would only let me get one slit in it and wouldn't let me push on it at all, so today it had almost doubled in size. I got a couple more slits in it today, but again, he wouldn't let me touch it at all, so I'm hoping it has drained on its own.

Matt had to work late tonight and then go straight to church (he's still leading the seventh grade boys' small group), so I'm pretty worn out. I feel like I'm getting a sore throat, but I'm hoping it's just from being tired. Even though it's my night, Matt said he would get up with Jonah tonight so I can sleep. Part of it is to help me out, but I'm pretty sure he's suffering from serious Jonah withdrawal (Baby J was in bed by the time he got home from church). I don't think he's going to mind some middle of the night snuggles too much.

Ok, I'm going to finish watching my stories and then I'm off to bed. Please pray for Jonah's foot and his continued eating difficulties.

Thanks :)

Having a seventh grader myself, I think Matt is wonderful for doing that!

Lifting Jonah's foot in prayer tonight, and for all of three of you as you face each daily challenge. God's peace to you--sleep well!

Praying for Jonah and for you. One day you will get sleep! I wish I could watch Glee! Every time I try to watch it something comes up! (my 2 yr old! but I would much rather play with him than watch TV any day!)

Holy, Almighty God ~

I praise You for the miracle and blessing of precious little Jonah. Please bring Your healing touch to Jonah tonight, especially to his foot. Please bring him relief from the pain.

I also lift up Patrice to You, Father. Would You protect her sleep and refresh her body and strength. Please protect her from any infection that may be trying to make it's way into her body.

May Your mighty warrior angels surround the home of Matt, Patrice, and Jonah tonight ... bringing peace, restoration, healing, and comfort from Your Holy Spirit!

In the love and the power of the precious name of Jesus! Amen.

What a sweet little boy you have. My son had the same problem with what we called "exorcist vomiting" (you know like in the movie). We switched formula 4 times and finally settled on something called Neutramagin. The docotor said the next step if this did not work was a prescription formula. We just had to keep trying to find one he could tolerate. I am sure you have discussed this with your doctor but thought I would let you know you are not alone. Hang in there, eventually it does get better.

Praying for his foot. I know that you say we would all be this strong, doing what needs to be done for our children (and I do agree that I could do anything my baby needed) but I pray for you emotionally as well. I can't imagine how you feel knowing your poor baby is in pain. You are strong and doing what you have to do for Jonah and that, to me, is so admirable. Praying for you all!

Dear Jonah,
I'm so sorry about your foot. You must be hurting so bad.. and I know how it feels not wanting mommy to touch it. Me and my mommy and daddy are praying for you all the time. Hopefully one day we will get to meet and maybe we can be friends! I hope your foot starts to feel better and it heals free of infection. We will be praying.

Oh, and I know how you feel with all those gushes... mommy took me to the park yesterday and I had a huge gush all over everything... then we had to leave. It stinks.

Have a great day!
Love, Tripp Roth
