This is Katie and Nathan's newest bundle of joy and Jonah's girlfriend, Quinn. Isn't she beautiful? She has just turned two months old, and is just the sweetest, most laid back baby. I'm hoping she'll rub off a little on Jonah.
This was Jonah's reaction to Quinn. I wish I had gotten video of their first face-to-face encounter. He just started smiling so big and was just talking and talking. It was the cutest thing. He hasn't been around a lot of other babies since we don't ever put him in the nursery, but his reaction to her was very distinct. I think he's in love. I'm okay with it.

And here was Jonah's FIRST that occurred this weekend. Butternut Squash anyone?

The As Seen On TV sensation, the Magic Bullet. On sale for $20 off at Kohl's plus a 15% off coupon, plus I earned $20 in Kohl's cash. A pretty good deal if I do say so myself. And I'm totally pumped about making Jonah's baby food myself. I never thought I'd be a green mom, but all of a sudden I find myself cloth-diapering and making my own baby food. AND I drive a Hybrid. How did that happen? But I digress. Back to the point - I love me some Magic Bullet. SO. EASY.
I love that boy like he loves his Butternut Squash... which is A LOT.

Yay Jonah - welcome to the world of FOOD (well, something like food)!
That last picture is beautiful, the look on both of your faces as you look at each other - priceless.
Great, great pictures! You're such a good mommy. :)
Woo-hoo! Yay for Jonah and his woman - they are just too sweet! So glad he liked the squash, too. You're far braver than I - the best I could do with making my own food was mushing up bananas! Go Magic Bullet!
I love that last picture of you two - both of you are IN LOVE.
Hope you have a wonderful week - praying as always!!
Love,
Laura
PS - don't worry about the restaurant "adventure." You win some, you lose some!! :)
I absolutly adore the last pict! Jonah just melts my heart! YAHOO for the squash success!

Love all of your pictures! It's such a blessing to hear you talk about going out to eat, going shopping and all the normal things a family does. And, yes, it is definitely evident that you are in love with your beautiful (and I do mean beautiful) son!

Real food, that is great that he loves it! Isn't the magic bullet the best and so easy to use. I am so impressed you are making your own baby food. I am so glad that you sound upbeat this weekend!

I just love how his whole face lights up when he smiles ... and oh, those baby blues! So glad he's lovin' his solids ... praying that will help him continue to get better & better at sleeping through the night!
I loved making baby food! I hear the Magic Bullet is great for that, though we didn't have one. Jonah looks like he enjoyed the weekend!
Soooo precious! He really does look happy to be with Quinn - and he REALLY looks happy to be with you!
so cute. i hope the magic bullet is on sale at our kohls here, too. i have one and i love it (use almost every day) and my daughter wants to take one to college. i told her she'd have to pry my dead and decaying fingers off of ours!! ha!
that little jonah is such a doll. love how he's checkin out that cute little girl!!
Aww, this post made me smile :) I wanted to laugh out loud at the look on his face when it was a "SUCCESS", but I'd wake the baby...

What cute pictures! I love the one of you and Jonah smiling at each other. You look great!
We LOVE the Magic Bullet! I made all of Eli's food with it (and still am) I had so much fun making baby food :) The pictures are amazing! I love that smile!
you know i've wanted a magic bullet ever since they first came out...and now that i know they can be used to make baby food, i might just need to get one, not that i have a baby or anything, but one day!!
so glad that you guys had a good visit! quinn and jonah look like they enjoyed some quality time together :)

Great pix Patrice! And way to go on making Jonah's food. you've probably already heard about it, but check out this website for making baby food. It tells you what's appropriate at what age, and how to make it! I love it!

Congrats on making your own baby food. I find it so rewarding!!
Here's a great website that has lots of info. I'm sure you will have to adjust to fit any special needs Jonah might need, but it's a start and a lot of mom's like this site.

And if you ever have questions, I don't mind puttiny my 2 cents in... I'm not an expert, but have been doing it for my little girl (11mo) and she's still alive. ;o)

I made all of my son's babyfood and it was so rewarding! I used a blender for a while then got a small food processor--looks like a magic bullet would have been great!
He sure does have a beautiful smile! Kudos to you on making squash! Looks delicious : )
The pictures are SO CUTE!!!
I didn't have a Magic Bullet in our baby food days, but we had an easy grinder, which I wore out!
It seems Jonah is quite ready for this exciting new phase :)
Lucy
That picture of him leaning on Quinn's shoulder...love it!
And yay for the butternut squash! That will help ease your mind about what he is eating. Even if we can't get Anthony to take a bottle he is always ready to eat some food!
~Amy
That little man just keeps getting cuter!
What a sweet post! I am so glad that Jonah got some Quinn time--I got to visit with her last week and she is a sweetie. Jonah looks very accomplished in these pictures as he takes his first bites of "real food." You know the poops will get messier, right? Patrice, I have to tell you how proud I am of you manipulating the purchase of your Magic Bullet. I couldn't have done that better myself. I have wanted one of those for a while, but I just could not bring myself to spend that much on it. Now I will have to wait until Kohls does their Kohls cash again. I have heard they are way worth the price you pay. Good job!
That last picture is so beautiful. Both smiles. Praying for your family, as always. God bless.
I would say that I hate you, but that would mean we are on speaking terms after your dirty trickery (which we are not). Therefore,
Jonah - tell your mommy to get to work on that transportation thingy. But remind her to be careful about the controls. I DO NOT want to wind up somewhere in the Ithaca Earth Universe. That would be bad.
is it too early to order wedding invitations?
they make such a cute couple, love is in the air!
prayers always,

YIPEE for making your own food. I do it and LOVE it too! :)
Wait till he tries sweet potatoes.. those are by far my babies FAVORITE food!
Oh and mushed up avacado thinned with some BM or formula makes a FANTASTIC first food! And those extra good fats would be wonderfull for him.
I Can't beleive how chubby he's getting!
Give him a big kiss from all of us!
How Cute!!
Loved the pictures and Jonah looked so happy. So glad he got to spend some time with his little girlfriend, she is a cutie too. Smart lady making the baby food. You are doing a great job Patrice and Jonah is getting to the age to enjoy him more.
Jonah sure is a handsome little boy. The squash looks yummy and is very good for you. we use our Bullet ALL the time. You will be surprised what you can do with it. Enjoy, and give that little man a hug from me..Brenda in WI.
You really are a wonderful and devoted mom. Look at how Jonah looks at you; that's a boy who is truly loved and knows it!
Look at those chubby cheeks!! He's getting so big.
Hang in there on the "adventures". You win some, you loose some.
LOVE, LOVE these pictures! They are so adorable together. I made most...ok...about half of Mason's baby food and he loved it. It made me feel like I was doing something good for him too, not to mention it saved us some money along the way as well. An awesome tip somebody recomended to me was to put the food in ice cude trays and freeze them. Then you can just take one cube out and pop in the microwave for like 30 to 45 seconds and it makes the perfect portion. Very handy litte trick! Love you guys-

Hi Patrice :) I've been a lurker for a while and finally am coming of hiding! Anywho, check out this website I stumbled on http://onceamonthmom.com/baby-food/ They not only have awesome OAMC recipes but some delish looking baby food broken down by age. Makes me wish I still had a tiny one rolling around! Loving me some Jonut smile tonight!!
I love the Bullet too. It makes life so much easier than having to clean up the huge food processor. Butternut Squash is so yummy and I'm glad Jonah loved it!!!
YAY Jonah!
Those are the cutest pictures!
