a very happy mother's day

I was very thankful for a nice, fairly cool day here today. We were able to take Jonah and meet my mom and Shaina at a local park. We got KFC (fried, not grilled... WHAT is the deal with that? If I wanted KGC, I'd go to a different restaurant), and spent a couple hours eating, taking pictures, walking, and hanging out. Jonah pretty much slept the whole time. We did get to go to church this morning, but only made it through Sunday school, because by the time we caught up with everybody after class, it was time for Jonah to eat. We were going to feed and diaper change in the car (to avoid the nursery), but by the time we would have finished, worship would have been almost over. So we just headed home. I was very excited and happy to be there, and hope to make it the whole time next week.

My beautiful, intelligent, funny, wonderful mommy.

It was a great day. Much happier than last year. Last year, this weekend was very difficult for me. Saturday (May 10th) was Gabe's due date, and Sunday (May 11th) was Mother's Day. Please read this post to see how God gave us our miracle last Mother's Day. This year, I loved the day with my mom and loved the day with Jonah. I don't take any of it for granted.

I am SO glad you had a great day! LOVE the pic of Matt & what was his snow cone, Ha! Shaina is so pretty :0) I was 15 when my baby sis was born, so I know how special she is to you. Any-who, Happy Mother's Day!

(Hey, is it weird for you that so many people feel like they know you? I spent several hours reading your blog when I heard about Jonah on Kelly's Korner. I laughed, I cried...then laughed some more! I feel like we go way back, ha! I was wondering if it was weird (for lack of a better word)??

I giggled at his hair and for the dropped sno-cone. But most of all I smile in joy at the beautiful pictures you have this year on Mother's Day.

God Bless.

I loved the pictures, and can I tell you that personally, the picture of you smiling and holding Jonah is beautiful! I think people who know him are going to look at his God given smile and not see any of the other things....I am glad that you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

So glad you had a wonderful day! I know you didn't make it at church as long as you wanted, but what a great first time! More to come! And the pictures from the park are so great...I'm glad you were able to be out and about for so long. Jonah is so darn cute!

And that picture of Matt at the end...so sad!

And your post about Gabe from last year - brought tears to my eyes. I know how special it is to receive those "signs" from Heaven...what a blessing!

Hugs and prayers!

Happy Mother's Day Patrice!
Great pictures! And thanks for putting the link to last year's blog -- I hadn't been at your blog last year so it was great to see how God provided just what you needed at just the right time. He loves you so much.
Love, Nancy
Had to laugh about the sno cone - very funny.

Aww! It looks like y'all had a wonderful day on Sunday! I like the pictures. Usually I comment on Jonah, but this time, I must say that I laughed a little at how dejected Matt looks about losing his sno-cone!

Praise God for a Mother's Day where you could celebrate your Mom AND be celebrated as a Mom!

I have known Jonah was beautiful since your first photo him. In the sunlight though, you can really see how adorable he is. And, the hair is so sweet. I'm afraid Dad can't take much credit as the little guy beams of mommmy!

I am glad you had such a good day.

I love the pictures! Matt's dejected sno-cone incident is hilarious. I'm so glad you got to see your Sunday school friends and then that all of you got to enjoy a beautiful day outside. You are a wonderful mommy of two amazing little boys.

I am SO glad the you had a wonderful mother's day (that picture with matt and the sno-cone is just too sad, though!)

Psalm 116:7-9
Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.
For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

I loved the pictures! Looks like you had an awesome Mothers Day! I swear Jonah is getting prettier ( I can say that since he is a baby ) every day. The one with the sun on his face looks like he is just drinking it in. And for the record...he sooo looks like you to me!

Every time I read your blog and you speak about Gabe I am just amazed at the similarities. My last born is named Gabriel Matthew and my due date was also May 10th of last year. It also saddens me that we have to wait until that one sweet day in heaven when our two Gabriel's will meet and bond over their names and due dates. I think about you often, Patrice and Gabriel, when I am praying for Jonah.

I will always feel like I have a special maternal connection to you.
I am thrilled your Mothers Day was a good one this year, momma!

Happy Mother's Day Patrice! In the few frantic minutes I've spoken with you this weekend, those words have yet to make it out of my mouth. I was really sad that I didn't get to hang out last night. With the way I'm still feeling, I know it was for the best. But I miss you anyway. I love seeing the pictures from yesterday! Especially the one with you and Jonah smiling at each other, and the one where his hair is blowing in the wind. You Crump women are so beautiful to me! I love how that was captured in the picutres. Anyway, I love you! Hopefully I won't have to stay away too long.

Happy Mother's Day, Patrice! Hooray for being back in church. Always such a breath of fresh air after being away for a while. Your picnic in the park sounds so great. I especially loved the pic of your mom with Jonah and his sweet little upturned face. Precious! Praying for you still.

Patrice,
I'm so thankful to be following your blog. It just humbles me.

I read your Mother's Day post from last year and my emotions are so mixed. First, I am so happy to know that you recognize God's voice. I too know that there are no coincidences . . . only Godincidences. He is amazing the way he speaks to us and the way he answers prayer at times. Second, it was hard to read those poems . . .man they are heart-wrenching, yet so very very sweet. Great to know that you had a wonderful Mother's Day. Oh, AND that you, Matt and Jonah were able to go to church. I KNOW that was a blessing!
Love & Prayers,

Still praying,

I am so glad that you had a special Mother's Day. I did too. I LOVED your post last Mother's Day and the miracles that you found from God. I also found a miracle from God on Mother's day in 2000. I treasure him and our moments daily (along with my girls). Jonah looks like such a sweetie and you are beautiful. God bless you. Thanks for sharing. Jennifer in Southeast, NC
