all smiles

Here are a few pictures my sister, Shaina, took on Thursday night when Matt and I went out to dinner. Apparently he decided to use up a week's worth of smiles in the hour I was gone, because I don't think I've EVER seen this kind of smile action from Jonah. It's rare that he's this content, but when he is, we can either get a few smiles or at least a few open-mouthed grunts from him. These photos are from the first bath (before all the spitting up) when he still thought bath was a good idea. By the second round, he had definitely changed his opinion. I'm happy to have photographic proof of the happy bath.

The pictures from your other post just break my heart. I can imagine how YOU must feel - wondering how much pain he must be in. What a little trooper he is. We all love your blog out here in cyberspace. Thank you for all the sweet pictures, even the heartbreaking pictures of his blisters, and for keeping everyone updated. You are doing an amazing job of parenting, and it sounds like there is nothing more you can do to prevent the blisters than you're already doing.

Delurking! Patrice & Matt, I've been praying for both of you as well as Jonah too. I am also in the W-S area and ironically your pastor lives in my parents' neighborhood. (I went to youth group at Pinedale too back in the day). Anyways, thought of you when I came across this link:

Oh, he is so precious!Love him, love him! Love him!!!
The octomom has 20 kids and as far as I know, they are all healthy. How can this be? Life seems so unfair sometimes.

Hopefully, God will work a miracle in Jonahs life and heal him. I am praying that will happen.

I wonder if anyone else talks to Jonah when they look at his pictures. No? Just me? Just now I caught myself saying, out loud, but kind of whispery, "You're a sweet baby boy Jonah. Yes, you are! Sweet baby boy taking his BATH and it feels good, doesn't it..." I'm pretty sure he can't hear me from Texas.

Jonah is so beautiful. I know it must be very difficult but think about taking him out. I'm sure this creative bunch can come up with creative replies from noisey people.People will love him for who he is not for what he looks like. I would be tempted to say in my sweetest tone, when asked, "I would rather not discuss it right now" and move on ;-) You are a fantastic Mom. Don't forget!!

OMG I could just suck his breath! It makes my heart so happy to see him smiling like that! I remember when my own children smiled for the first times and that I would cry every time! He looks so much like you Patrice!
Loved the date nite pics and you should make a point to do that every chance you get!
I hope his blisters will soon be gone!
And about taking him out, come on Patrice, I knwo you have an answer for just about everything! I sure would not let people's stares keep me from going anywhere with that precious miracle of yours! I would want to show him off to the whole world!
Love you and God Bless your little home everyday!

that adorable boy takes my breathe away. Jonah is so precious..He looks like he is trying to talk, coo. He knew he needed to show off for the camera.

You are probably so right that he is getting more blisters because he is growing & moving around. But you don't focus on the blisters, I focus on those beautiful eyes & his CLEAR smooth skin.

Jonah is a very handsome little guy. I would love to get me some kisses & sugars from that neck. In that 1st picture that little foot makes me want smooch it ..I love baby feet & hands.

Lots of prayers & love to all 3 of you.

I have always loved the story of Joseph, in the bible. God gave him "it". I don't know what "it" is, but he was able to find favor even in the worst of times when his brothers despised him and the Pharoah's wife tried to have him killed.
God gave Jonah "it". It's like when you look at him a spell comes over you and all you feel are good and happy thoughts. He is beautiful beyond words and I pray that God's protection is always on him. I pray for you and Matt also because I think what God gave the two of you is also special and I pray his protection on you as a couple.
Mary never felt special or worthy of God's favor, but she was a faithful servant, as are you, Patrice and God chose you because of your heart.
Keep letting him lead you and he will "carry" you through the hard times.

In His love,
Robin

Patrice....this beautiful little boy of yours, whom I have never met and never will except when we are both on the other side of eternity, just melts my heart. When my sons were growing up I would literally get a "rush" when I would hold them. Well, looking at those pictures of Jonah smiling (especially the one where his eyes are closed and he is smiling) gave me that same "rush". I pray more than you will ever know for him and for his wonderful parents.
