Pediatric Surgery will come back and do some creative problem-solving to secure the tube, but for now it's in his Rambo strap. Doesn't he look tough???

I have been bawling my eyes out face down on the floor pleading for God to heal him and to give you HOPE. Hope that doesn't disappoint.
Ughhhh, this is not our home.

May God use you to bring hope into the lives of thousands as you cling to Jesus during this.

"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in YOU my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of YOUR wings until the disaster has passed." Ps 57:1

Hey guys...I was able to get on for a few minutes today after all. I know the tube seems bad right now, but I think it really will be a good thing for the short-term. Everyone is stronger and able to fight infection and heal better when they are well-nourished, and I'm hoping and praying that will be the case with Jonah as well. And just because it's there today doesn't mean it will necessarily be there tomorrow or next week. Hang in there, and I'll check back in for more Jonah-updates later! {{{{Hugs to all of you}}}}

Oh my goodness, your son is BEAUTIFUL. I just read through all the posts and my heart ACHES for all of you. He looks like such a fighter though. Is is possible his skin looks better over the past week? It sure does look that way to me. He is just adorable, I will say a prayer for you all.

Hi,
I recently found your blog---and have read the whole thing from beginning to end---with many tears!

I am trusting with you and standing with you that our Father in heaven (THE ONE TRUE HEALER) will breath His healing into every area of your precious sons body that needs a touch from Him.

He is absolutely adorable!
I will absolutely put your little widget on my blog, calling friends and family to pray!

Your little one is adorable. Especially with his little head band. :) I am so glad that he ate by himself and that there has been one more victory. I will continue to pray for his building strength and wisdom for the medical team caring for him.

I just wanted you to know that I prayed for Jonah today (and for his mommy and daddy). I love the pictures - yes, you have Little Rambo Man! :) He is so sweet.

I'm so glad to hear that he's eating well. I remember the new (sick) baby in the hospital. It IS a huge victory!

Praising God with you and continuing to pray for Jonah.

Hi Patrice,
He looks so sweet even with the Rambo look! I know it's a personal hit to you that he has a feeding tube, but even 10 ccs isn't enough. I think healthy newborns take about 30 - 40 ccs a feeding. Jonah needs some food in his system to help his insides work as tough as his Rambo look! Hopefully he will only have to have it for a short while and he'll eat more and more - especially since it seems he's decided he kind of likes it!
You, Matt and especially Jonah are on our hearts and minds all the time and we're praying for you LOTS! God is good and He really does loves you all - why Jonah has to go through this, I don't know, but He has plans for Jonah, and you and Matt too.

With Love,
Jon and Andrea Hauser

Jonah looks tough because he is tough and way cute! I know you didn't want Jonah to get a feeding tube, but the tube will enable Jonah to receive the extra nourishment that he isn't getting from the bottle. Praying for no infections. Keep fighting, tough guy.

My baby girl had that same type of tube for a long period of time. Babies are so tough, aren't they?! I love the new pictures. Jonah is so cute.:) I know how hard it is to go to that feeding tube as we have dealt with the same issues with our daughter. The reward is watching them grow so well as a result. Still praying for your precious boy and both of you.

I am so happy to hear that Jonah's story is going to be heard by so many people, and that you already have over 2,000 praying for him and you guys as well. There is such power in prayer, as you know.
I pray for you every morning, every day and every night. Just stay strong - you have been blessed with a little life and God knew what he was doing when he sent him to you. He is so lucky to have two parents that love him and can show him what strength is all about. He is a tough "Little Williams" and he is going to keep fighting because somehow he knows what he means to both of you!
I love you so much!

Jonah is such a cutie - he just melts my heart every time I see him!!! So, so sweet!! I'm sorry he had to get a tube, but hopefully it is just a short term solution and he keeps eating well!!!

Just to make you feel better, my little girl (with RDEB) had the same type of feeding tube for about 2 weeks. The tube didn't do any damage to her throat and it helped her get the nutrition she needed. When she was ready to start eating fully from a bottle she started pulling the feeding tube out. In one night they had to put it back in 3 times because every time they put it in she would pull it out. We knew it was a sign that she was ready to eat from a bottle and the next bottle feeding she ate great and they never had to put another tube in.

He is absolutely precious. I will keep praying that he learns to eat on his own, even as the tube relieves some pressure for him to do so.

Patrice,

During the day I keep coming to the blog and reading all the comments and looking at the pictures. I've started a comment several times today trying to come up with the "right" words. Please know that when you are "bummed" I am. adn that is way it should be. Whether you are experiencing joy, sadness, whatever emotion - you are not alone. I've come to understand that sharing, especially in the midst of what you all are going through, is one of God's greatest blessings here on earth.

I found your blog a few days ago and have been checking back everyday. I am praying hard that Jonah has the EB that he will outgrow! Looking at the pictures, is there any way they can use less tape on his face and tummy? He is just beautiful. :o)

He looks like he is smiling a bit in the last pic! Tell you what he is going to be one handsome boy when he grows up!

Behind all those boo-boo's....he is a very handsome little guy. I am praying he fights this and comes out smiling through this.

Poor little guy. I was telling my husband his story tonight. As a mommy my heart aches for him and for you.

I like that you are staying positive, I know it isn't always easy...and I am sure the other 'possibly reality' is enough to cause anyone anxiety or nightmares....

God has a plan in this... he knows what you can handle.

Im praying for little man and you and your husband. Hang in there.

God Bless.

I just love the last picture! It looks like he is smiling just a little! I guess that's because he knows he has GREAT parents, and an awesome God looking out for him! Dear Lord, heal this precious child! Stay strong Williams family!!
