gabe's service

Here are some pictures of Gabe's service. It was absolutely perfect. I really think it brought Matt and me some peace. Matt even got up and said a few words. He wanted to speak on Gabe's behalf. To us, he was already our son. He had a personality. We knew him. But it's like Matt said, if we had to choose between spending time here on earth with Gabe or up in heaven, we both choose heaven, hands down.

Having him here was the greatest 37 weeks of our lives. We wouldn't trade it for anything, and we can't wait to finally spend some more time with him when we see him in heaven.

His body is resting in a beautiful place, overlooking a pond. We go every few days and say hi and feed the geese. It's peaceful there, and we are glad to have a place we can go to feel closer to him. We know that is only his physical body, but it still gives us some comfort to be there.

Please keep praying for us. We have hours of okay and hours that are very hard. But God is good, and He remains faithful. We know that we will get through this, and that with time He will heal our broken hearts. Thanks again to all of you who have called, emailed, sent cards or come to spend time with us. We are overwhelmed by your amazing love.

Patrice--I can't tell you how honored I am that you displayed one of our pictures at the service. I am so glad that you were able to use the photos still and I hope that they will also help bring a sense of peace to Gabe's short time here on earth while giving a visual representation of your and Matt's love for one another. You guys are so strong and such an inspiration to all of us. I wish I could have been there, but I was certainly there in spirit and through the photos. Justin and I love you guys and are continuously praying for you.

I just wanted to leave a comment. A friend of yours, gave me your blog address. I just lost my precious baby boy (at 39 weeks) two weeks ago. I've found your strength very uplifting. Not sure how you do it, but I sure hope to gather the strength to get through. We will be TTC as soon as my episiotmy heals. I'm scared but def. ready to give it a go again. I'm sorry for your loss, losing a child is probably the worst thing possible. But you are in my prayers as well as your son and your baby to be!! good luck!
