what we've been up to this weekend

Yesterday we spent decluttering the house. We're listing it in a few days. We love our house but just want to move a bit west of where we are now, closer to our church, Matt's parents, Matt's work, and the boys' schools.

Last night we went over to Matt's parents' house for dinner and to let the boys do a little driving in their cul-de-sac.

And today we finished up Jonah's family leprachaun trap project for school. We love his school and his teacher and I even ended up liking this project... although I think I complained about it for a week. I'm real mature like that. We had to use at least one simple machine in our trap, and naturally, ours had to involve a Hot Wheels car.

"I'm real mature like that." Oh, I like this. I can relate. You were a good sport. Nice work!

Great leprechaun trap. I allow myself to get trapped for Rolos. And I'm not sure if Gideon is wild about his car ride with Jonah. He seems to be holding on for dear life.

I'm a very long-time reader but not a commenter. Probably at some point but not recently for sure.

I'm just curious, did you get to choose Gideon's name? It is so fitting with Gabriel and Jonah but I have no idea how that works with the foster system and since you said there was visitation I didn't know how much input you had on those things.

If that's something I shouldn't ask please accept my apologies. I know adoption has many turns and different people have different comfort levels and experiences.

I am so glad to get to see your whole happy little family.

Hi Jen. Yes, we chose his name. It is not his birth name but what we've called him for a long time. And now it's official! :)

It's a beautiful name and he is a darling little guy. I'm so happy that you made it through the long wait. I cannot imagine that particular trial in life even though it was obviously more than worth it.

Great job Jonah!! I love the trap. And congratulations on the adoption! I just saw it today and read back through all the posts.

I have been reading your blog for years. I went to high school with your Aunt Katherine. I teach kindergarten and showed my class the leprechaun video. They loved it!
