I played around with my camera some more today. I also ordered the 50 mm (ahem) 1.8 lens, and it came on Saturday. I took these photos with it. I really have no idea what I'm doing, and I'm having some issues in Aperture mode figuring out what is best for what light. There was a lot of deleting that happened today. Anyway, there were some white balance issues and even some focusing issues, but I'm still learning. I thought they turned out okay. Sorry if you're getting tired of looking at photos of my kid. There's not much more around here worth taking photos of. I know I'm making lots of mistakes (so stop rolling your eyes, photo pros), but I'm excited to learn!
Matt opened the ironing board. It squeaked. Jonah started for real scared crying. No, I'm not kidding.
Kockwan (Kathryn) came over today for a visit. :)

One handsome, cute, beautiful baby boy! Never too many pictures! :-)
You will LOVE the 1.8 lens. I just got one a few months back. If you have time (I know - haha) I found it AMAZINGLY worthwhile to take an 8 week basic photography class at one of the local community colleges. It was only around $100 and it taught me more than I could absorb. I took detailed notes and still reference them, years later!
Way to go on trying out those camera settings! And I loved my 50mm lens!!! You got some really great shots :)
The last picture of Matt and Jonah is fantastic! You should print it and have it framed for Matt's office!
50mm not 55mm (*cough*) I love you.
You could post dark, fuzzy pictures taken with a obsolete cell phone and I would still be able to see the beauty in that boy of yours! Thanks for making it easy on the eye though!!! As to the fear of the squeak in the ironing board...maybe he hasn't heard the sound enough to not be frightened!!! Blessings!!!!
Don't even think about feeling like you post too many Jonah pictures! Not even possible. :) I LOVE the Mohawk. I also love seeing pictures of Matt with Jonah. It troubles me that I don't see dad's around much with some of the other blogs I read. :(
never, never too many pictures of Jonah, Matt and Patrice...Love his mohawk (of course when I get up every morning I have the same look, but on me it is called bedhead & not cute at all).
Keep trying & we will keep admiring your skills.
Have a safe & happy Monday.
Love ya
I think your pictures are GREAT!!! Keep em' coming! Gotta love the ironing board squeak! LOL
I am not sure how you could ever post too many pictures of Jonah! He is sooo cute - I just want to give him a huge hug through the computer!!

I don't think you could EVER take a bad picture of that sweet boy! He's just TOO cute!! Thanks again for sharing him with us!
Love from TX,

PS - Jackson wanted me to tell you he really liked the videos of Jonah walking!
I think you're doing a great job taking pictures! The more you practice, the better you will get. And that's a wonderful lens! So don't down yourself, they look great.
