at the fair

We made it to the fair today. I was bummed we couldn't go to church, but was determined we weren't just going to sit around the house. On my Fall Wish List, I have the fair, a pumpkin patch, and the zoo... for starters. Fair, CHECK.

Waiting to get in...

 The Entrance.

Hello Fall. You are the best. I mean it. I love you.

Overwhelmed by the chickens. I don't blame him. There were a bunch. And they were loud. And smelly.

And aggressive looking.

Cute bunny to counteract the loud, smelly, aggressive chickens.

Jonah and Mommy outside the Petting Zoo barn.

Feeding the animals. He didn't exactly get the concept of "lay your hand flat," so he just threw his pieces over (a skill he mastered yesterday feeding the duck, thankyouverymuch.)

Speaking of throwing things over, "Put me down! I'm goin' in!"

A cow... or something. Close enough. Now, Jonah knows what a duck and a real cow (or something) are.

"Lay your hand flat," and "throw it over" are for babies. I'm a BIG BOY.

A real cow! "Mooooooo."

First lunch: polish sausage and a bloomin' onion. Polish Sausage: 9...

Bloomin Onion: 4 (didn't hold a candle to Longhorn's)

Approval of greasy food with greasy onions and peppers and mustard. Divine.

Second Lunch (about twenty minutes later): Elephant Ear

Second Lunch, The Sequel (only for Matt): a Krispy Kreme Burger.

I wish I was kidding. Two Krispy Kreme doughnuts for buns, cheeseburger, bacon. You could get it dressed with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard too. GROSS.

Matt thought it was good but said he'd only eat it once in his life... just to say he tried it.

(I think I can die fulfilled without mixing my beloved KK original glazed with beef... and pork... and cheese... with the option of condiments.)

Sweet Jonah hanging out while we ate Second Lunch.

Hoping next year he'll be up for eating First and Second Lunch too.

He was an angel and we had a great time. Hooray for the Fair! And Fall! Did I mention I love Fall?

Here is last year's fair post if you want to see how much he's changed.

I threw up a little when I realized the KK burger was for real. Unbelievable. Wow. I am astonished. Who thinks of these things?!

Looks like a great time!

Jonah of course looks cute, as always. But Patrice, you look adorable. YOu just look so happy and your outfit was so fall-y and fun looking.
I hope you are as happy as you came off in this post. You are blessed with a wonderful husband and an adorable boy. Here's hoping for his wellness and no more sick-yness!

For those wondering- Elephant ears are very similar (maybe the same?) as a funnel cake! And they are YUMMY!!!

My but it is good to hear the smile in your voice again, Patrice. Fall is probably my most favorite season too. I love spring for many reasons but I anticipate and enjoy fall the most. Gabe's flowers are goregous and I am glad you had some family time there. I saw the KK burger on Leno. YUCK! That's all I can say. My hubby wants one though (same reasons as Matt, to say you ate one!). I did go back to see how small he was then. It was amazing! He is such a sweetie and so grown up. Making leaps and bounds now! We love you so much! Jennifer of Southeast, NC (where the sun has decided to shine again!)

I have never seen a KK burger - I'm pretty sure I felt my arteries hardening as I looked at it. :)

Glad you all had a great time - happy fall!

Love,
Laura

Oh my gosh that krispy kreme burger is definitely something I'd never try... well maybe just a bite to yanno see what it's like but I can almost feel my arteries clogging just looking at it! All the krispy kremes went out of business around here so needless to say we're stuck with non gooey Dunkin' Donuts :( The fairs around here have fried garlic and things like that. We also have a tulip festival every year that has an amazing vendor that sells freshly made to order crepes and they are AMAZING.

As for Jonah man is he getting to be such a big boy. He's growing up! That last picture is so cute, I love it.

Here in the midwest we enjoy our funnel cakes at the fair. I am curious if they are similiar to the elephant ears. Can you explain what elephant ears are?

Jonah is growing SO much. Glad he enjoyed the fair !!
