we have a crawler!

Jonah is officially crawling!!! The last few days he's been so close but mostly refused to move his knees. He would get up on his hands and knees, rock, stretch, move his hands, over-extend, get ticked off, lay his head down, sit back up, fuss, spin around, go backwards... pretty much get as close to actual crawling as you can without doing it.

He had his Physical Therapy this morning with Ms. Ashley, and he would not do anything. He was fussy the whole time and just wouldn't cooperate.

And then, after Matt got home, it's like something clicked and all of a sudden, he knew to move his knees.

This video isn't great. He was already tired at this point (it was right before bed), but you can see him move his knees a couple of times. I'll try to get a better one in the next couple days.

I can't tell you how proud I am of him. He is so amazing and just keeps fighting, no matter what. I'm guessing that, within a week, I'll have real trouble on my hands.

Praise God!

I know I don't comment very often but I do read EVERY single post!!! I have read since the day you gave birth to this precious boy.... I watched this video 3 times now and cried tears of joy each time. I feel like I'm watching my child crawl for the first time. I know you have to be the proudest parents ever right now!!!! Congrats and you are a true inspiration to gods love.

I totally agree with what the woman before me said--has there ever been a child who had SO many people rooting for him?? He is just so precious and loved--so excited about his crawling.

Yeah for Jonah!! Something else he "can do" . . . I say that because in my prayers for Jonah I'm always asking God to work a miracle and heal him, to let him eat and sleep and laugh and continue to grow, and to watch over sweet Jonah . . . but this morning, well this morning I found myself simply praising God for the things Jonah CAN DO . . . Jonah can SEE, HEAR, TOUCH, TASTE, MAKE SOUNDS, SMILE, GROW A BEAUTIFUL HEAD FULL OF HAIR, SLIDE DOWN THE SLIDE, SWING IN THE SWING and now he can CRAWL! And my prayer tonight? Well, tonight I'm praising God that Jonah is crawling and praising him for Jonah's precious, loving, Godly parents.
Can't wait to meet you all one day!

With love & prayers.

that is just AMAZING. I feel like he's my son I'm watching crawl for the first time. It's crazy how attached we all get to him!
When he laid his head down I wanted to say "don't rub your face, Jonah!"
Love him..and you! :)

Yep! 48 hours and all bets are off. People always bemoan babies beginning to walk, but trust me, crawling makes them just as mobile as walking! As I've told you, though, they are so excited to be able to move under their own steam that it's completely rewarding (in my opinion) to see them go. I've personally loved all three of our boys' mobility, and I hope you love it with Jonah, too! He will be so excited. :)

Gosh! That kiddo never ceases to amaze me! He is incredible! I know what a huge milestone this is! My son was born at 23 weeks and he didn't crawl until just after his first birthday, and that was HUGE!!!

Great job, Jonah! I just showed the video to the baby I'm nannying for (born on Jonah's exact birthday). She kept saying "ball, ball" and clapped her hands when Jonah crawled towards it. And ps - I just fed her a Yo Baby yogurt and prayed for Jonah while we ate together :)

Alright! Go, buddy, go! I love how easily he moves from sitting to crawling and back--watch out, Mom and Dad!

Those babies...they never want to perform on cue! When we took our daughter to the Developmental Therapist we would always say "she can sit up on her own! She can clap her hands! She can do this and that!" And then she would never do them for the therapist! But it was right after the appointment that the therapist told us that she would beging crawling soon that she did at home! Have fun with your newly mobile little guy!!!
