mother's day

We had a pretty good day today. Matt was in South Carolina this weekend. He and his dad go to the Darlington race every year (except last year when things were still too crazy around here). I was going to go (not to the race, just to SC), but it was for a very quick trip, and I didn't want to pack up all of Jonah's stuff and bandage supplies for a 24 hour trip.

He got home around noon today, and we headed over to a park in Kernersville to spend time with my mom, siblings, and niece and nephew. Sweet Ainsley wasn't feeling well, so I definitely didn't get all the snuggles I wanted, but it was still nice to get to see everybody. Jonah didn't last very long. He had a rough night last night and was very sleepy, so we had to head home for nap.

But before that, Aunt Sarah took him on the slide.

He wasn't a fan, and we had to follow it up with a "Don't rub your face, Jonah."

There's something about this photo I really love.

Then Asher came and bonked Sarah in the back. He thought he was hilarious.

The closest thing to a smile we got.
So blessed to be this guy's mommy.

He looks a little different than he did last year... (same park, same day).

And a special thanks to our moms for all you've done for us this past year. We appreciate and love you very much.

And also, Matt got a speeding ticket coming through Society Hill, SC on his way home. Let me know if you know of a good SC lawyer who could help a brother out. :)

A speeding ticket following watching Darlington. Hmmm. No big surprise there. My hubby would probably do the same. I, on the other hand, would never break a traffic law, especially not speeding (snort).

Happy Mother's Day, Patrice! I'm praying for all of you.

I thought of you and closed my eyes and prayed to God today...
I asked what makes a Mother and I know I heard Him say: "A Mother has a baby, this we know is true".
But, God can you be a mother when your baby's not with you?
"Yes, you can" He replied with confidence in His voice "I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice; some I send for a lifetime and others for a day. Some I send to feel in your womb but there's no need to stay."
I just don't understand this, God I want my baby here; HE took a breath, cleared his throat and then saw a tear!
"I wish I could show you what your child is doing here today; if you could see your child smile and play with other children and say..."we go to earth to learn our lessons of love and life and fear; my mommy loved me oh so much I've got to come straight here. I feel so lucky to have a mom who had so much Love for me, I learned my lesson quickly and my Mommy set me free; I miss my Mommy oh so much but I visit her each day. When she goes to sleep on her pillow I lay, I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear, "Mommy, don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I'm here".
So, you see my dear, your child is ok, your baby is here in my home and this is where they'll stay; they'll wait for you with Me until your lesson there is through. And on the day that you come home, they'll be at the gates for you.
So now you see what makes a Mother, it's the feeling in your heart; it's the love you had so much from the very start . Though some on earth may not realize until their time is done. REMEMBER all the love you have and know you are a Very Special MOM

Happy Mother's Day Patrice.. You know he was just looking forward to coming home to YOU, which is why he got pulled over! At least thats the excuse I would use!! :) I don't know any lawyers in SC, but I do know Police Officers! lol Did he get pulled over by the state or a local agency?? Hoping your Mothers' Day was filled with lots of giggles, snorts and laughter! I know mine was!

Is wearing green on Mother's Day going to be a tradition? Love the picture of you kissing his cheek!

call the D.A. in that county and tell him its his first ticket in 2 years or if ever and they usually drop it to under 10 miles over which does not get reported to the
insurance but you still pay the reduced ticket and cost of courts via the mail.

Thank you for your comment. I do still check on you! I have to admit I took a break because my heart would hurt for you so bad, I could hardly function.

I cannot imagine the valley you are walking through but I know that God is faithful in dark valleys and that it is there He annoints our heads with oil (Psalm 23)aka the Holy Spirit.

I am so happy to have heard from you and to see how well Jonah is doing!
Happy Mother's Day to one of the most beautiful mothers I have ever met. I wish I could meet you in person. I worried there for a while you would block me since I was kind of a stalker writing you all the time.

Waiting for the Shout~
