tissue paper

Hey everybody.

It's me, Jonah. Guess what? I slept all night again last night. That's two nights in a row. Mommy and Daddy can't believe it when they wake up in the morning and realize that it's the alarm clock waking them up. Now if Mommy could just get in bed before 11:30.

Today was a pretty good day, but I was a little more fussy than usual. Probably teething, Mom thinks. I ate 29 ounces today, but I gushed up about four or five of that. Mom tried six ounces of the soy mixed with just two ounces of the Peptamen Jr. for my first bottle of the day, and apparently I can't handle that either. So it's either a whey protein allergy or lactose intolerance or both. Sigh. Anyway, Mom's not trying the Peptamen again unless I stop eating the soy. But I'm really eating great these last couple of days.

We went to Target today (again). Mommy had some things to return and a few things to pick up. When we got there, before Mom got me out of my car seat, I spit up all down my shirt and pants. Mommy gave up, buckled me back up, and we left. But then she put on her big girl panties, gave her self a pep talk, went through the Chick-fil-A drive-thru for a pick-me-up sweet tea, and we went back. She said something about it being society that says your kid's not supposed to go around covered in vomit and smelling funky. "We're not letting the man get us down," she said. I don't really know what any of that means, but back to Target we went. So just to show Mommy how proud I was of her, I puked all down myself again while we were standing at the return counter. Sorry, Mom.

And tonight Mimi and Papa (Daddy's Aunt Patsy and Uncle Bill) came over to give me my Christmas present.

Guess what they got me???

TISSUE PAPER!

I LOVE me some tissue paper.

Oh yeah, and it came with a cool, squishy, sock dog.
HOORAY!

Mommy says that somebody named Santa Claus is coming in a few days and will bring more tissue paper. We're celebrating about four or five different Christmases this year with different parts of the family. Mom says she better cut down on her photos per gift ratio or it's going to be out of control. She took 14 photos of me opening this one present. She's so silly.
Anyway, that's it for me for now. I'll catch you guys on the 27th.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Love,
Jonah

I am so happy that you guys have been able to get some real sleep, it has to help keep up your spirits and give you the strength to go back to Target! Good For You! And, seriously - you can never take too many pictures of Jonah's beautiful face!!

LOL, you're so silly Jonah!! And I'm glad your mom put on her big girl panties--I tell myself that very same thing about once a day!! And maybe you could find another way of showing your mommy how proud you are of her instead of big gushers at Target?? I'm thinking that testing your mommy's patience after she just got done putting on her big girl panties probably wasn't that funny for mommy. And I bet she needed a ANOTHER pair of big girl panties to put on over the first pair!!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and can't wait to here from you or mommy on the 27th!!

CFA sweet tea is such a great cure-all! And by the way, I am TOTALLY hooked on the CFA special sauce. It rocks.

Way to go at Target. Who cares if people wonder where that smell is coming from? I say, look at the kid beside you and ask him if he might have stepped in something outside. DIVERSION is the key.

Love ya!

Jonah,
I love it when you hijack your mom's blog...though I love your mom's blog when she is in charge as well! Have a wonderful Christmas...and try to keep the gushers to a minimum, for your mom and dad's sake!

Merry Christmas Jonah! I hope you enjoy all the tissue paper.

Tell your mum not to worry - my daughter Ashlea used to throw up everywhere too - projectile style. The world didn't end (unfortunately).

Don't ever let "the man" get you down. This family walks around covered in vomit and smelling funky too. Cuz that's how we roll. (And because mama can only handle doing so much laundry and the hopes for a shower alone before 11pm evaporated a couple of years ago)

You totally made my day, sweet boy :) You're looking might spiffy too, I must add!

Merry Christmas Jonah, Patrice and Matt! And good for you, Patrice, for taking Jonah to Target all pukey and stained. Who cares? I have taken my kids out looking and smelling like complete wrecks, but deep down I know that I have their best interests at heart and they won't remember the fact that I let them go out in public like that so it's all good. I say just dab up what you can with a burp cloth and get on with your day.

Target, CFA Tea,Sock dog & TISSUE PAPER all in one day (plus sleeping through the night & eating like a champ) what more can a boy ask for...

Glad to hear you & mom had a good day--if people have never smelt a little vomit before, they thought it was a new brand of cologne...(ha)

I have a cross stitched piece hangin in my office that I look at several times a day "Put your big girl panties on & deal with it"..we all have to do that every now & then.

Merry, Merry Christmas--Santa could just leave the presents behind & bring you lots & Lots of tissue paper, but one day you will like the presents better...

Wishing you, mom, dad, Gabe & the entire family, Merry, Merry Christmas & look forward to hearing from the 10 month old boy in a few days.

Love; prayers, hugs & kisses...Wanda

I think it's awesome that you went back to Target, and then he spit up again, and you can laugh and make jokes about it. You have some serious strength! And a really great attitude. I wish I could look at things like you do. I'm afraid I would have cried right there at the return counter!

I find it truly amazing, in my own life, what a difference sweet tea can make. It just seems to calm the nerves and make everything alright again. Don't worry about the baby puke! Babies do those things! I had two that had reflux and were always puking in the car. We would have never left the house if we worried about the puke! Merry Christmas! Keep the pictures coming that is why we have digital cameras!

Tissue paper is the best present!!! Jonah you look more and more handsome everyday! Patrice - I'm glad you went back to Target. I feel like you do some days when my kids are screaming or crying while I'm shopping. People look at me like I should leave.
