quick saturday wrap up

I'm very tired tonight and wanting to get as much sleep as possible (it's my night to be up), but we've had a great day. Lots of stuff to post about later.

The radio show went really well, and I had a great time. The podcast isn't up yet, but I'll let you know when it's available.

Matt took care of Jonah from 12 to 4 today, and he did a great job - gusher and a poopy diaper and all. I got to go out to lunch with my friend, Sandy, before the radio program, and it was fun, relaxing, and just what I needed. Mmmmm... Chili's Cajun Chicken Pasta. Divine.

Tonight we went to a chicken stew at our friends', Greg and Monica's, house. It was with all our Sunday School peeps who(m?) we haven't seen in forever. I miss them so much, and it was great to hang out with them again. Do you northerners have chicken stews? If not, you are DEFINITELY missing out. It would be so hard - no chicken stews AND no sweet tea...

We are determined to make it to church tomorrow. I'm needing the good night's rest to get me through the tough day tomorrow if we do get to go. A late dressing change during Jonah's usual nap time could equal a minor meltdown. We will not be deterred, friends! ONWARD!

Tell me more about a chicken stew! I've discovered sweet tea (love it) but have no clue about the stew! BTW, how does McDonald's sweet tea rate?

Glad you were able to have such a lovely afternoon out. And pray tell, this ignorant Washingtonian girl, whatever is chicken stew? :)

Mmmm Chicken Stew sounds delicious, but I haven't a clue what it is! You should post the recipe if you get the time. :)

No sweet tea in Nebraska, well except for the McDonald's drive-thru (oh the shame!) I'm pretty sure that doesn't count hehe :)

I'll be praying for your successful outing to worship services in the morning. If you see my brother and his wife, Chris & Beth Kelley or their daughter, Taylor, tell them I said hi. They know me as Joyce.

God Bless,
Mimmy

What's a "chicken stew?" Maybe I'll start the trend in Southern California, LOL!

I am from the north(WI), but know ALL about sweet tea as I married a southerner (He is from Durham). I have never heard of a Chicken Stew though..........Please....do tell!

I'm a southern, and I don't know what a chicken stew is either, lol. I'm from the mid-south (AR), recently transplanted to the deep south (FL), so I'm learning there are some differences in southern life. Although the sweet tea remains a constant, just much sweeter here!

Don't know if you're a fan of MckMama but I've noticed a coupon for aquafor (sp) the last few days. Sometimes it's the top ad and sometimes it's down on the right. If it's not covered by your insurance, the site is below.

I hope you made it to church!!

Nope. No chicken stews in Minnesota. But isn't sweet tea basically tea w/sugar in it?? If not, please explain. :D

Is chicken stew like chicken bog? I'm originally from Phila. but now live in SC....LOVE sweet tea and chicken bog! I go to the same church as Jonah's grandparents so I've been reading about your family every day. Sure feels like I know you! ~~Monica

Never had chicken stew up here in NY. Never had it the 18 months we lived in NC either! We love sweet tea though and can only get it at McD's unless we make our own!

Patrice, I so enjoyed our time together yesterday. You were a big hit on "Encouragement Cafe" and we appreciate your time, your honesty, and your humility.
And from reading all the comments, your next job will be to come up with some good Chicken Stew and sweet tea recipes for your friends.
And it was good to see Jonah at church today. He is GROWING! You are evidently doing something right, and God is blessing.
Sandy
