more of the fair and what not

Shaina just emailed me some of the fair pics she took. Shwoo. Just in time. I had NOTHING to blog about.

You can tell who is the budding photographer in our family... and she's only 14.

She's pretty amazing. (In my humble opinion, of course)

And the photographer herself.

*****************************************
Jonah is still awake as I type (9:55 pm), talking in his bed. I have NO IDEA why he's not asleep. We got him down at 8:40, came downstairs and turned the monitor on, and VOILA - awake! He woke up from his nap at 4:30, so I know he's exhausted, but apparently he has plans of his own. Daddy told him he could stay up and watch Monday Night Football.
Apparently Jonah wants him to make good on his promise.
He just ate eight ounces though, so I'm not complaining about anything.
He ate 28 ounces today (Hooray!), but spit up about six. Still, 22 is better than 16. AND today's was the first gusher he's had since Sunday a week ago. Seven days between gushers. That's amazing for him. I'm praying he's growing out of it and that this isn't just a fluke.
As far as the sleeping, he's certainly been sleeping better both at nap time and at night. It's hard to know if the night time sleeping is all natural as we are now giving him Atarax in his bedtime bottle to help with itching (face and feet rubbing). Even before we started the itching med, he was already down to just one wake-up for the most part. Matt will be getting up with him between three and four tonight for another feeding. Hopefully it will go as well for him as it did for me last night.
Oh yeah, in addition to the 28 (really 22) ounces he drank today, he also ate about two ounces of solids... It was a pretty good solids day (sweet potatoes with cinnamon were a success!).
I'm very tired and headed to bed. I don't care anything about staying up to watch football. I'd rather watch the backs of my eyelids.
Matt reports that Jonah is asleep now. Crazy kid. I think he does it just because he knows he can.

Okay, fine. I'll love him anyway.

I love the pictures your sister took. She is really good! The one of Matt kissing Jonah is my favorite. His big grin is too cute!

I love that last pic of him, he is gorgeous (in a handsome, manly way of course!)!! Yeah for 7 days between gushers, 2 oz solids and sleeping better!! But,if Daddy made a promise, Daddy should keep it!! As for you, good night, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!! Pleasant dreams and have a great tomorrow!!

PS. love the ferris wheel pic. Which car was Jonah in??!! hahaha Good time for a gusher!!!

I love your blog and baby Jonah! I've learned so much about something I've never even heard of (EB). I'm just sorry I've had to learn it at the expense of your sweet blue eyed boy.

On the eating front, my 6m old only takes about 20oz a day too (note, I'm not trying to compare our babies, I clearly know they have different needs).

I've tried force feeding him too--and it just frustrates us both. Have you maybe tried just giving him more calories in the same amount of ounces? So like mixing 2scoops of formula for every 3 1/2 oz rather than 4? It kind of beefs up his caloric intake w/o him having to take in more ounces.

I did it for a bit because my boy fell below his natural growth curve a bit (he's mainly breastfed and I guess that's normal). It made my son a bit spitty which may have the opposite effect you're looking for, but maybe it might help you feel better about him eating some more.

But he looks perfectly healthy and growing nicely to me!!

What great pics! I love the one of the ferris wheel, even though I'm not a fan of the actual ride. And those pics of Jonah - boy is he ever a cutie!
Rest well tonight, Williams Family!

The pictures are beautiful. Your little sister has an incredible eye for a good picture. My little sister does too and she started at about the same age (and she is now 48.) Jonah is so so so so cute!!!

Keeping you all in our prayers.

I mentioned the formula earlier...just wanted to clarify that I'm no doctor or anything so you know, might want to check out my advice first. Not that you wouldn't. But I wanted to make sure you knew. Cuz I don't want poor Jonah to puke anymore than he does. Or for you to have to clean it up!!

He's growing up! For some reason our little man hasn't gotten the memo that growing up=not waking up in the middle of the night, but kudos to Jonah! Uninterrupted sleep is one of the greatest gifts he can give to his mommy and daddy. Don't you just feel like a completely new person when you are well-rested? Throw in a nice hot shower and it's like a complete transformation :) Oh, and Starbucks never hurt a girl either!

Shaina's pics are beautiful! WOW! Do you think the new med is helping with the eating, too? That's great that things seem to be getting better! YEAH!

our #2 son had horrible reflux, complete with the gushers and it was like 7 or 8 months that we started seeing some serious spacing between the gushers. so you're probably right (and I'll pray that you are) that he's starting to grow out of it.

spending your days bathed in puke is NO fun. trust me, i've had TWO kids with reflux and just the thought of the puke is enough to keep me controlling my births for now. :)

Wow, those pictures are amazing!! She is definitely talented...and since I'm not biased in any way, it must be so, right? ;)

Thanks for sharing the Jonut pics - adorable, as always!
