foot update

Just a quick update to let you know:

1 - Jonah's blister had almost completely drained, so I didn't have to mess with it today. We'll see how it is tomorrow, but I was so happy to not have to cause him pain today. He was fussy during dressing change because he was tired, but that leg caused him no issues. Hooray! Thank you for praying. Thank you, God.

2 - I am DEFINITELY trying to get sick. My throat is still sore, and my body is just screaming, "GO TO BED." I started taking Airborne last night, so I'm hoping that will help. I'm still very functional at this point, and Jonah's taking a monster nap, so I slept for almost two hours. True, I gave him Benadryl with the secret desire that it would knock him out, but seriously, who hasn't drugged their child for sleep's sake before??? (Don't freak out, people. He was rubbing his feet together a lot and needed the Benadryl anyway, but I'll have to admit, I couldn't have been happier on the timing. :) )

Ok, he's making up from aforementioned monster nap, so I gotta run. Matt has to work late again tonight (rough week at work), but my mom's coming over to give me some help since I'm feeling blah.

Thanks for all the prayers!!!

Hooray, God for healing the blister! :)

Feel better, Patrice!

(Have you ever tried Ester-C to help with fighting off/preventing things? It's vitamin C, but in a different form than normal (or so I understand from the doctor's explanation). I have a pretty lousy immune system, and I've been taking it for a few years now when I've been really busy, not sleeping well, or just feeling off. It seems to work well for me (and I work daily with the local homeless folk!).

Praise God for answering prayers by healing the blister.

Don't worry about giving him benadryl. My dgt had colic so bad her pediatrician had me give her 1/4 tsp every 4 hours in1 oz water. We started this at 3 mths & her colic lasted until she was a year old...she is now a healthy 24 year old. I should have owned stock in the company that made it. It didn't knock her out, just made the screaming tolerable.

Glad you got some rest & that you mom is coming over to help..extra prayers for you tonight, because sick mamma's don't get any rest...

Love & prayers

Hi Patrice,Matt,and Jonah:
Glad to hear Jonah's foot is getting better and I will say a prayer for you Patrice. Your son is so gosh dang cute,I just love him to bits and pieces.

I was wondering if a wash cloth with velcro strips attached would work on his car seat? You can buy the ones that just stick on,no sewing required.

Take care and even tho i don't always sign in on here i am always praying for Jonah.~Darlene

Patrice - I know you are probably getting a million "home remedies" sent to you at this point, but here's another one that really works for me.

Have someone go to a health food/vitamin-type store for you and pick up a bottle of Oreganol softgels. It's a little white bottle with a blue and yellow label by North American Herbs, I think. It will say something like "oil of wild oregano P73" on it.

I'm telling you, this stuff is like magic. It's a natural anti-septic (so you can break it open and use it on things like athlete's foot...just fyi), and it does wonders for your immune system. A couple of weeks ago I was coming down with what my husband and son had - sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes - I took two that night and it was pretty much all gone the next day.

It's a little pricey, but it's definitely worth every penny to me!!!

I'm glad Jonah is doing well, and I'm praying for a good day out for you sometime soon!

Praise God for His mercy! What a swift answer to prayer!

Heavenly Father, You are so Good! May Your Hand be on Patrice that her health will not waiver, allow her to pull through without much down time. Keep her strong and rested. Lord you are so Faithful! Thank you!

In Jesus' Name, Amen!

We just tried Zicam nasal swabs for my 15 yr old son at the start of what seemed to be a cold. Usually colds take 10-14 days to run, with using the product as directed, his cold lasted only 5 days and he wasn't that congested for those 5 days. There are at least two types of the Zicam, one is for Cold Relief (which is what we used) and the other is for Allergy Relief. You may want to give these a try. The beautiful thing is that you don't ingest it, it is absorbed through the nasal membranes in like 30 seconds so if you sneeze a bit later, it has already absorbed. I highly recommend it!

Hey girl! Glad Jonah's foot is getting better. I have been enjoying your posts as of late. Continue to keep your chin up. Jonah is looking good, and he is growing so big! My suggestion is Advil Cold and Sinus. You have to take it more than 2 days though. I have had to take it as many as 7 in order to feel better. I use a neti pot too. Please hold the gross comments! I think it does help. I hope you get to feeling better soon! Tell Matt hey for us and kiss baby Jonut. Love you all.

I have had to give my kids med. for them to sleep before so don't feel bad for it. Praise God for healing the foot. So sorry that you are not feeling well. Praying that the sleep and rest you get tonight will help. I continue to lift you all up in my prayers. I hope the feeding and spit up gets better soon. I can't imagine how it feels to have to do those dressing changes over and over b/c of the spit ups and everything else you do. You are 2 wonderful parents. I love the pictures of Jonah. He is so cute. He is growing so much. Take care and know that people are out here praying for you all.

I am in TOTAL agreement with the Ester "C" comment. It is a must for parents of babies/small children. God is GOOD (blister healing). Hope you feel better!
