No time to post tonight. I have to cut elastic out of diapers. We're down to three. Yikes!
However... I did cook, it was a new recipe, and it turned out okay, so I'll try to get that up tomorrow. And just so you know, that Rachel Ray is full of crap. Thirty minutes my butt!
But the main reason I'm posting tonight: please visit Sam's Caringbridge site. She's had a rough day, is experiencing TONS of pain, and her counts have not risen. They are worried that she may have Graft Vs. Host Disease. Please be in prayer for her as her mom says she is still deep in the woods... specifically that her pain will be eased and that her counts will rise.
Thanks :)

Takes me about 15 minutes to chop what RR chops in 2 seconds! I'm praying for Sam!
One of my friends' daughters has fought leukemia for the past two years. They are always worried about GVHD ... it's a constant cloud over their lives, so I will keep Sam in prayer all night. I feel so deeply for their entire family.
Praying for Sam tonight here in Virginia...
A pediatric nurse praying for Sam in Texas
Rachel's meals always take me WAY more than 30 minutes. I could probably do it in 30 minutes if I had a staff prepping the food for me. ;)
Praying for Sam!
I've never been brave enough to try one of Rachel's meals - I think she must operate on a different clock than I do!
Happy elastic-snipping!
Love and prayers from TX!
Laura
Patrice,
I have noticed also that there is no way to prepare a R.R recipe on thirty mins. I think that she one, has the recipe I her head so she doesn't have to keep looking at the recipe and two, like others have said, has staff to prep all her herbs and such!!! Anyway, I to have been following Sam since you put her in your blog and storming heavens door with prayer!! I have not left her a message yet and really need to do so. It was so nice to read the second update on her site tonight!!
Much love to all of you tonight and many prayers!!
Lots of love and many hugs!!!
i dropped off al little love earlier. praying for her, for her entire family.
oh, and double the time for any rachel recipe!!
Yes, Rachel Ray is full of crap. I made one of her little "30 minute meals" recently and it took me an hour and a half, cost way too much money, and it wasn't even all that good.
You are a brave woman to try and tackle a RR recipe in under 30 minutes! LOL!
Thank you for the link to Sam...we are lifting her in prayer for healing and strength.
And little Jonah...I could eat him up, with his fun new sounds! He's got lots of big words in there, ready to come out! And those eyes...they are so captivating!
You and Jonah are still in my prayers...what a strong woman you are!
I just read her Caring Bridge site again and there's good news there. I was so happy for them. Also, I don't know if you know this, but her Mom put the name of a sheet called the Exu-Dry sheet that EB patients can use. She was saying that Sam's skin never blistered or anything when she laid on that product. You might want to check it out and see if they work for Jonah. If you already know about them, I was just trying to help! Have a good weekend! :-)
Some of my favorite cookbooks are the 3 or 4 Ingredient cookbooks. I can usually handle those okay!!
I read Sam's story and left her a note tonight. Cool about the honey crosses! Will pray for her and her family as I continue to pray for you and yours.
Praying for Sam...hope you have seen the new pictures! Totally amazing!
Glad your days have been a little better....the secret to Rachel Ray is to do the recipe EXACTLY as she does...otherwise things will not go as planned! It always takes me longer than 30 minutes too....Need to practice my chopping skills...and how does she chop onions without tearing up???
Hugs....
Praying for Sam.
Also, I LOVE watching Food Network and have used many of the recipes from the various shows. With that being said, I believe that to make it more realistic to home cooks (especially moms and dads), they need to have a show with someone making a meal while holding a infant/toddler on one hip and having at least 2 other small children running around in the kitchen screaming and playing... oh yeah, and no commercial breaks! Let's see them cook a meal in 30 minutes with all THAT going on :)
Hi Patrice:
Thanks for the link to Sam. I am praying for her, Jonah, Leah and all the other EB kids out there. The honey crosses are awesome and I could tell by reading her journal, she is somewhat relieved. Will continue the prayers and hang in there EB family. Take care and give Jonah a kiss from Leah's Nana.
I'm totally with you on Rachel Ray. I love her recipes and they always turn out so yummy, but they always take my twice as long to make.
I also agree with the rachel ray statements...have 2 of her cookbooks, it costs a ton for all 25 ingredients on her list takes forever to prepare/cook and usually isn't any better than something from one of my great church cookbooks!
