I got out of the house today!!! Can I get a woot-woot?
My sister, Sarah, came for a visit, and after dressing change, we left the boys watching... well, you know, and we went to Friendly Center in Greensboro. Osh Kosh and Carter's were having "blow out" sales, AND you could earn extra bucks for shopping in the future.
Now that I've decided Jonah can wear shirts with sleeves, I'm able to find a lot more stuff. HOORAY! It does my mommy heart good. I still can't get him anything with snaps, buttons or zippers on the front, back or shoulder, but at least I can get short and long-sleeved t-shirts, shorts, and pants. Some overall outfits work as long as the buttons are low enough that his chin won't hit them. The child has no neck!!!
Anyway, look for some cutie pictures comin' up with Baby Jonut rockin' his brand new clothes.
We were only gone for about two hours, but I felt renewed. We rolled the windows down, turned the radio up, and sang at the top of our lungs. For a few minutes I felt like "Patrice" again and not just "Jonah's Mom." Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being Jonah's mom... more than anything, in fact. But once in a while it is nice to be a kid again. But I missed him like crazy and was so ready to be home.
When I posted those pictures of him last night, I thought about an alternate title of "I mean I know I'm his mom and everything, but geez, this kid is cute." But then I decided that's a pretty long title.
Jonah slept like a rock star last night... from 9:30 to 4 and then 4:30 to 8:15. Suuuuh-weeet. It was Matt's night, so I'm hoping the same for me tonight. He went down an hour early tonight, so I'm little concerned as to what that means for our 4 am rendezvous. We shall see.
Better get to bed... just in case.

Yay for freedom! It just makes you appreciate being a mom that much more when you can have some alone time. Glad you had fun and here's hoping the boy gives you a great night of sleep because YOU deserve it! Love and hugs from Michigan!
Congratulations! I am so glad you were able to get out and have some time to yourself! Praying he sleeps well tonight. God bless
Good for you, sometimes you just have to get out and shop!

When you said Matt loves watching football, I was going to tell you that could be a good thing. But, now you figured it out :) I could go shopping or to a friend's house any time there was a game on, since I knew Chris would be home "bonding" with Weston.
Way to go! And...football season has just begun :)

I have been following your blog for a few weeks and I just wanted to say I was so excited to just realize you lived in NC. We are a military family and we just moved here from Arkansas. We live right near Sanford. Anyways, I just love reading your blog. I was previously a preschool teacher and a shadow for my little buddy Alex who has EB. He will always have a special place in my heart and so does Jonah! I hope you guys have a blessed weekend! :)
Isn't it funny that the littlest shopping trips renew the spirit? I went up to a local restaurant tonight to order supper-to-go for us, and I was only there for 20 minutes, but it was away from the kids and the chaos, and it was wonderful!!
Have a great Sunday!!
Getting away from my kids and getting some non-kid time is the best way for me to refuel. Good for you!!
So glad that you got to have some grown-up time today! It sounds like it was just what you needed to renew your spirits!
Isn't it amazing what a little trip out of the house ALONE (ie without kiddos) can do for you? I went out yesterday afternoon to Target all alone and it was fabulous! Too bad I missed my babes and husband and was excited to get home and kiss everyone. I felt like me again too :) Can't wait to see Jonah's new digs. I am sure he will be adorable in them all!!! He's such a cute little guy!
Happy Monday

Jonah is so doggone cute! He has beautiful blue eyes and the most darling expressions. I had to laugh when I saw his pictures just now. What a cutie patootie! He's one of those babies that looks like such a cuddle bug! Makes me miss my babies..they are grown now. Jonah will be grown up before you know it,too...so get all the baby sugar you can now. PS: You are a better Moma when you get some time to feel carefree. I know when my kids were small, I would leave them with Daddy just to walk around the block and pretend I was single and had no responsibility. By the time I got home, I was refreshed and ready to be mommy and wifey again.
